Waited 45 minutes for my appointment. I was walking out when the stylist came to get me. Things happen, I've had appointments run over and been late to the next, so I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt. I waited that long, why not give it a go? Stylist was pretty quiet and not interested in making even a little small talk, so the entire encounter was awkward. We discussed a long bob with a little light layering. I ended up with something similar to The Rachel which has some pretty heavy layers, not mention 15 years out of style.

This review is long overdue! I have been getting my hair cut with Diana on and off for literally almost 20 years . My first visit with her was when I was eight years old. My mom brought me to her because she was desperate for someone to untangle my hair... we now refer to that day as the day she undid my dreadlocks (my hair was sooooo easily tangled when I was young, still is). Anyway, 18 years later, I am still going to Diana for haircuts. The only time I haven't used Diana as my stylist was when I wasn't living in Gainesville. Diana is amazing. She takes the time to listen to exactly what you want. My favorite part about her is that she does not hold back her opinions (in a nice way, of course). She is the professional, not me. I need someone who I can trust to tell me my idea won't work out well, or someone who can offer new ideas. She takes the time to make sure we're both on the same page, and has never let me down in 18 years. I'm honestly not sure what other salons charge in Gainesville, but compared to stylists in Miami, her prices are very reasonable, especially as she is the owner.

I have 'forever' worn my hair long, blow dry straight, and found myself more in ponytail than styled since moving to Florida. I've done the usual prowling of Pinterest among other media sites to see if any style reflected my hair type, my face shape, and my overall appearance. Mind boggling. So I set my sights on finding a salon and stylist to help me. Thank goodness for reviews on Yelp! Andrea did the impossible. 8" or more shorter, scissor cut dry to see how my hair changed, and voila! Not only a stylish cut and look, but it's one I can maintain easily at home (tested by pool and later shampoo). I'm getting compliments from everyone. Trust yourself to their care as I watched as other patrons of the shop receive equally great cuts.

Adriana did my hair for my wedding! I walked in with no idea what I wanted to do, and she gave me some amazing options. She ended up curling my hair and doing a small waterfall braid in the back, while weaving my bridal hairpiece into my hair. It looked stunning, and I received compliments from everyone. I've been dreaming about my wedding since I was a little girl, and Adriana brought my vision to life.

Hairdressers have rarely listened to me this lifetime. The last hair dresser did such a bad job I jumped out of the chair half way though, burst into tears, paid and left. Last night I had dinner with a friend. Her hair looked soooooo beautiful I felt compelled to ask who cut it. Diana had a cancellation today (Saturday) = small miracle #1. She played with my hair to get the feel of it and didn't ask me to take my glasses off. Miracle #2. She listened to me which encouraged me to listen to her - yes we listened to each other. Miracle #3. She was gentle in her cutting, doing it in stages to check I was happy. I was. Miracle #4. She washed my hair just once because she could feel it was clean and didn't use conditioner because she said my hair was soft enough. Amazing. The end result...I couldn't be happier with my cut. Truly a small bowlful of miracles!
