Evolve Salon in New York, NY

Evolve is conveniently a few blocks from where I live and I am so grateful for their expertise. Before my haircut and blowout, I was struggling to maintain my unruly, thick mane that was no match for the summer's relentless humidity. However, my hair cutter at Evolve did an excellent job at containing all the frizz, while also making it fall really nicely. I got my hair layered in the front and she used special scissors to thin out some areas to help make my hair more manageable in the future. I will definitely be back for a future haircut as I trust this beauty salon to cut and style my hair to perfection. Come to Evolve!

I purchased a Groupon for a wash, cut, and blowout. I saw Lulu today and couldn't be more pleased. I usually end up crying after a haircut and this was my first cut in nearly a year, but Lulu was very friendly, detail oriented, and did exactly what I asked. Am not sure why there are negative reviews here, she was so conscientious about everything and speaks perfect English. I will definitely return to see her for my next cut, and may have her do balayage soon. I only write reviews for incredibly good or bad experiences, which I don't do often. This was a great experience so felt I should share!

After 6 months of wearing my hair in a bun after the nasty, chopped up, uneven, made-no-sense, short in back long in front, one side longer than the other mess that Lulu did to me, I had my hair cut by a professional haircutter and it's chin length now when it was 13" when I went to Lulu originally. That is 6 MONTHS of wearing my hair in a bun. Six MONTHS. Lulu is completely incompetent and has no talent and does not understand nor speak English. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SALON! Russian owner doesn't give a sh*t. That's why he runs the Groupon deals.

The stylist didn't listen, imposed his own absurd style on my hair and rather then apologize or offer not to charge me for it claimed it was the same style and refused to acknowledge how bad the cut was.

The atmosphere was great. The salon has a nice ambiance, the hair stylist were all friendly, smiling while working on their clients hair. I was received that I asked for a wash and set and they did a great job at not repeatedly burning my scalp as other salons tend to do, another great thing was that. Not once did anyone pressure me to cut my hair. This was a plus for me because usually salons try to pressure me into cutting my hair (tailbone length) They actually complimented me on how healthy and long my hair was for being color treated. I really appreciated that because as I said before, I don't normally come across a salon that makes me so comfortable. Overall, I would definitely be going back. This will be my new go-to salon. Also, they have a nail tech there witch is great if you want to get your nails/hair done in one spot. I learned I have to make an appt to see her so I was not able to do my nails, so I will be doing so to try her out. She appeared to have a good amount of clients coming in and out to see her. Overall my opinion is this place is great find. I definitely recommend this salon. If your looking for a place that does exactly what you ask and doesn't push for more, this is the salon for you.
