Weekends, especially Saturday mornings and afternoons, are often peak times for many hair salons. Additionally, weekday evenings can be busier due to clients visiting post-work. It's always a smart move to book in advance, but if you prefer a quieter environment, you can ask Doll House Hair & Beauty Salon about their less hectic hours.
Really disappointed in the service I received. I scheduled a blowout with Liz online. I received a missed call & voicemail saying that she was unavailable, but I was rescheduled with Amber. I was okay with that. I never went to Liz, but read good reviews that specifically mentioned her. My usual salon I go to for a blowout didn't have any availability. After Amber used the blow dryer & round brush, she said she had to go over it with a straightener because I had "that kind of hair." My hair has some curls.. that's all. It's not hard to manage, it's just on the frizzier side compared to pin straight hair.. I assume hairstylists know how to do hair on texture that's different from their own. Also, I went in for a blowout. I didn't expect for my hair to get double heat. She went over my hair with a flat iron trying to make blow dryer waves. In the end, it looked flat. I'm not one to complain ever! I'm super easy going, but I had several events to go to this weekend & I really wanted my hair to look nice. I asked her if she could put more volume in the waves because it looked flatter than what I'm used to. She went over it with a curling iron & although I still didn't love it, it was better & I wasn't going to tell her something again. I got to the register & was rung up for $75! (A blow out is $45.) I said $75 for a blowout? The lady at the counter said it's extra because of the curls added. I was blown away because the only reason she needed to put triple heat on my hair was because she didn't have the skills to blow dry my hair with a round brush... I was extremely disappointed & honestly felt robbed. If I knew it would be extra, I wouldn't have allowed her to try to add volume. I wasn't even happy with the final look. I went home & tried my best to fix it. I still left a $10 tip when honestly I should have asked to speak with someone else.. this was Friday & I'm still sad about it. I recommend going elsewhere for a blowout.
I have been going to the Doll House for about 6-7 years now for all my hair and make-up needs and I love the service I receive every time! I typically see Liz who keeps my hair super blonde, but still healthy all year long. On the occasion she's not available, I have had excellent experiences with all the other ladies at the salon. Rachel does the best make-up and always gets me photo ready for all my special occasions (wedding, maternity photos). The energy and vibe at the salon is always super upbeat and friendly. Mallory always makes sure you're greeted with a smile and set with coffee or water while getting your services. They also recommend the best products for your hair and sell them at the salon, which is so convenient.
I started going to see Liz at the Doll House last year when my hair was breaking and not in the best shape, she has transformed my brittle hair, back healthy!
I've been going to this salon for over a year. Great salon, friendly, stylists that care about your hair. Both Courtney and Elizabeth have done extensions for me and both transform my crappy fine hair into a much more normal looking style. Don't know what I'd do without them! 5 star rating
Wow..I can't believe I paid Michelle LaFrance $185 to dye my forehead black and treat me like I'm poor. I really thought no one could mess up just dying hair all black. I can't believe she let me leave like this...after checking my hair in my car mirror I realized there was dye left everywhere. I had errands to do afterwards so I had go back in and get another color remover wipe. I looked like Rudy Giuliani during that press conference when the color starts bleeding down his face. When I had booked my appointment online, the price said $90 and that was totally okay, I was only getting one color all over my hair. I ended up getting a "a trim" her words, not mines, as well so unsure how my total ended up almost twice that price. I literally only tipped because she was breathing down my neck. Wish I would've read the reviews of this place before hand. Stay away!
There's no denying that balayage is having a moment. This modern hair coloring technique has taken the beauty world by storm, and it's easy to see why. Balayage is a French word meaning "to sweep" or "to paint", and that's exactly what the colorist does.
