I came to simi from the bay today for some last minute family business. My cousin recommended Illusions studio. The guy who gave me a cut was Mohammed, very nice guy. I have an easy haircut but I'm pretty picky about how it looks. Mohammed was patient and trimmed it a bit shorter after I wasn't completely satisfied the first time. Since it was a simple haircut, the man told me to just throw him a 10. I gave him 20 and I honestly would have paid full price like I do with my barber in the bay. Great service, great dude. Would probably come here regularly if I was local.
Irma is horrible...did my hair with her 3 years ago and I am still paying for what she did. Wish I could've warned more people. I got a color and all over hi lights. I had taken pictures to show her what I wanted and she said she could do it. I wanted a medium brown with subtle caramel hi lights and she turned my hair orange. I cried she tried fixing it made them bleach blond chunky all over highlights. She burned my scalp and used the cheapest bleach possible. My hair takes forever to grow and I'm still having to continuously cut the ends to preserve some length but as of lately I might chop it off it hasn't grown since the burn scars. She's cheap but not worth it I'd color my hair from a box before ever going to her again!
I've been going here since I was a little boy and Irma has never given me a bad time. She's like another mom to me. She's always very sweet and very attentive. My mom and family have been going for more than 20 years to her and she's always the number one we go to. She has very reasonable prices and the little shop is very cozy. It's like family when I go and that's what I love.
