Yahaira's Hair Creation in Jersey City, NJ

Move to the area fairly a year ago, walked in to get a wash and set I was told I had to wait a bit. I waited about 30 mins then go my hair washed the lady that service me was slightly rude in the beginning also a lot of my hair was on the floor when getting my rollers in. At the end I had to tell the lady how I would like my hair styled and it wasn't flowy like my normal wash and sets there for I ended up getting a doobie which is a wrap out here and paid 5 dollars for them to put a net on it. Wasn't my worst experience nor my best.

They could be better at customer service this is my second time going there I wanted to give them a chance but still my face is a mess my ears has hair color everywhere

I just moved to the area and looked up Domincan blow outs . I'm happy with my results and they stylists were nice . I will be going back for a wash and set !

I really really wanted to like this place. I was looking for a blowout on my thick natural curly hair. I hadn't had my hair blown out in over a year but had my color done a week prior at my favorite salon downtown. The reviews sold me on this place and it's close to my home. I called ahead to check if they could do a blowout that day on thick, natural, curly hair. They said yes. I hopped right over. When I arrived, I said I wanted a blowout. I actually said it twice to confirm. They said fine. I realized quickly that this is a typical doobie spot. Places like this hate to blowout my thick hair. As the girl was washing my hair, she was complaining in Spanish about blowing me out (I understand Spanish ). After washing me she grabbed the rollers and acted surprised when I told her I wanted a blowout. A woman who I assume is Yahaira said that the rollers would be better for my color. I didn't care. I specified a blowout (on the phone and in person 2x) and I don't have the patience a 3 hour salon trip just for a doobie. The girl blew me out and that's when I realized that she had stripped my color from either NOT using a color safe shampoo or who knows what. My expensive 1week color down the drain. The kicker? At the end the girl says the person who normally does natural hair wasn't there that day (I wish she would have mentioned this earlier). And they only payment option they were accepting was Zelle or cash. Normally i would perform but this place was a mess all around, I was alone, and there were more of them than me. But what a poor experience all around. I will NEVER go here again.

Having just moved to Jersey City, I wasn't sure where to go for a wash and set, but Yelp hasn't failed me yet, so off to Yahaira's I went. I was nervous about how long the visit may take, as Yahaira was alone in her shop, save for her daughter, and balancing 3 other clients for back-to-school, plus me and 2 other who walked in after me. She and her daughter got me in and out, from shampoo to door, in roughly an hour and a half. I've sat in other salons for 3+ hours with more staff, doing many more blowouts. This was a relaxing, enjoyable experience -- and I walked out feeling like one hot mama!! And at a reasonable price, especially coming from places that charged $90+ for a wash and set in Philly! Will definitely be back.
