Xanadu Salon & Color Bar in Chesapeake, VA

Moved to the area from California and was in desperate need of root, highlights, cut. Did some research and saw great reviews so I thought let me try this place. Due to a cancellation I only had to wait 3 days instead of weeks which was great. With moving and closing on a home it has been about 8 weeks and I was nervous because I loved my California hair professional and being blonde is always more difficult in my opinion to find a Stylist. Had a great appt and met all my expectations and beyond. Everyone was so kind and friendly it honestly took me by surprise. Only downside is it is Very pricey in my opinion for this are and service. I usually spend around 200.00 To 270.00 every 6 weeks in California with my stylist. Todays appt was $372.00 before tip so I was a bit surprised with pricing. 220.00 for 1/2 highlights 100.00 plus for roots and whatever else. Wasn't able to get a receipt. I wish they had proper pricing by stylists on there webpage as the prices there do not match what they charge as I was told it goes by stylist... I recommend they put each stylist prices accordingly on the website. Made follow up appts but may shop a different salon due to the pricing, I did receive amazing hair so thank you

Honestly this place just gets better and better. I have had 3 different stylist at this point and I can honestly say they have all been amazing. My latest stylist Sarah was amazing and probably who I will continue to ask for just because we seemed to have a lot in common, and had a wonderful conversation while I was there. I booked two appointments in advance that's how much I have enjoyed this salon!

What a great experience. The staff are super friendly and my haircut was the best I've had in a long time.

My friend and I came on time to our appointment and we're greeted properly, however you could tell that the staff was very awkward. Our appointment was for a wash and two blow outs. My friends hair stylist repeatedly got water on her face while washing. As they started to style our hair we could tell they did not know what they were doing. My stylist was unaware how to blow out curtain bangs so I blew them out myself. My friends stylists also didn't know, and had to have another stylist come and show her. When she started to curl my friends hair, she burnt her multiple times. When I was finished with my hair, two stylist went to my friend to curl her hair, and they used two completely different wands, resulting in two completely different curls in her hair. Half of my hair is curled while the other is straight. The stylists were kind, but this was unacceptable.

We recently moved to the area and tried a few different salons out before settling on Xanadu. They are great. Mea cuts both my wife and myself's hair and is the best stylist we've had in a long time. Highly recommend!
