Love this little salon. I get dip and my nails last a month each time! They are busy so make your appointment ahead of time but the staff does excellent work.
I have received several pedicures at Vnails and the techs are all very polite and the results are nicely done.
This is an update after previously leaving a 5-star review. I have been going to this salon for 4 months now and was very excited to have found them as it was close to my house. Fast forward to today. They treat their newer customers very well, but I should have listened to my gut when I originally saw the 1-star reviews. Steve is consistently not on schedule with his appointments and I have always been understanding. This week, I had to reschedule my appointment due to my fiancé being sick and needing to take care of him. Along with that, I thought I was being polite by not getting anyone else sick. I rescheduled for the end of the week with my requested nail tech, Steve. I arrived right at my appointment time only to be told Steve was not there because "he didn't know if I was going to show up" and Fawn, who relayed this information to me kept telling me it was my fault for rescheduling. I guess I would have expected the same understanding for my reschedule as I have given multiple times to them for having to wait 45 mins after my appointment time to get started. Fawn was going to start doing my nails until he arrived, which I was hesitant about due to the fact that I went to her my first time and didn't like how they turned out. In general, I do not like having 2 different nail techs do one set of nails and they do this a lot here from the other reviews I've read. Regardless, I am paying to get them done and I should be able to have a say in who does my nails. Fawn immediately got upset and started yelling at me through her mask. I should have left right there and then but I was hoping Steve would be nicer since we have built a relationship over my last few appointments. Boy was I wrong. I made zero requests throughout my appointment and sat there quietly, other than requesting a "sheer" nude. Mind you, Steve has been doing my nails for months and I have always gotten a sheer color. I still reiterated that I would like today's polish sheer, however when he started doing the second coat on the first hand I spoke up and asked if it would be sheer enough as I could tell it was not going to be. He basically said too late now and rushed to finish so he could make his other appointment he was already late for. Also, another appointment had come in between and had to be told she had to get her nails done by another tech due to the salon's poor time-management skills. I asked how much it would be for a polish change (even though I shouldn't have to even offer this due to it not being what I specifically asked for) and he wanted to charge me ANOTHER $20 on top of the full service I had already paid for! This is a horrible way to run a business. Like I said, I was very happy to have found this place at first and I gave them an opportunity to make things right. I am extremely disappointed and will be telling all of my local friends that I have referred to this salon to stop going here unless they do the right thing and make it right by offering to do a polish change at no cost.
This is by far our favorite salon in San Diego! Steve made us feel right at home. The customer service is impeccable and the quality was perfect!! Thank you Steve and Kim!! We will be back
