Love Ramona! She's the best, but everyone I've encountered there has been great also. Been going here for about two years now.

I can't speak for the other stylists but I had an appointment with Aisha. As a new customer, when you make an appointment online, you are supposed to include a picture of your hair in its current state and indicate what you would like to have done when you come in. I made the appointment and really wanted a fresh head because I was driving out of town that same night to attend a funeral for a very close relative the very next morning. When I arrive for my appointment, Alisha looks at my head, starts laughing and says "whew, I was afraid of this." I ask her what does she mean and she tells me she can't do my hair because my locs are interlocked. Now, I have starter locs so I asked if she could just palm roll them then and she says no, she is not going to be able to do my head. I start panicking because I am supposed to go to a funeral and this woman is telling me she can't do my hair. She told me she could walk me next door to an African Braiding shop and they could cornroll my hair. I have never heard of such ignorant nonsense in my life and never have I ever gone to a hair salon that has refused to do my hair. My other issue is that she saw the picture of my hair when I made my appointment so I asked her if she knew she couldn't do my hair after reviewing my picture, why did she not call me and tell me instead of letting me drive there and telling me that she can't do it. I could have made an appointment with someone else. I was in literal tears and I told her I had a funeral to go to that next morning out of town. She didn't offer me a bit of sympathy and she said that she has been going through things herself and her hand has been bothering her (how does that compare to losing a relative?). Because of Aisha, I had to go to a funeral without my hair being done bc she didn't call me ahead of time to let me know she couldn't do it. I will always remember her for what she did. Also as an "experienced loctician", how are you not well versed in all the ways to loc hair (palm roll, two strand twists, coils, and interlocking)? So far I have gone to several locticians all in the area and all of them have been able to do my hair no problem. I'm sure this is an ok salon but as for Aisha, she was very insensitive and her practices are extremely ghetto and ignorant. I can't recommend this salon to anyone because of her. If you want to avoid the ghetto, please save yourself the time and book with someone else. So disappointing....

So far so good. i have had some hair extremes for sure--my first relaxer at 9 years old and my last relaxer almost 35 years later. Then a battle that had me on chemo for six months and left me with none of the great natural hair I had grown so well. But now three years later I have a head full of hair again and want to hang onto it (and good health). So I found my way to Urban Natural and Aiisha's chair. And am happy I did. She detangled, conditioned and wrestled my really dry, matted hair into a sleek looking two stand twist updo. I went back a month later and was able to get a great herbal conditioner and updo style again, this time from Ramona (when Aiisha was out). So two great experiences at one hair salon. I'm a happy camper! I also love the online booking, the no kids in shop and credit card only (after all cash is filthy) policies too!

Attn: I have never been here, but totally plan on making an appointment soon. I ACCIDENTALLY hit a response in the "Help YELP" category stating this establishment was "High end/expensive ". I have never been! This was an accident. Just an FYI. ‍

So I found Urban Natural Hair on line. I booked an appointment with Aiisha and I'm so thankful she responded back!!! Went in she is so upfront and honest...when dealing with hair I Love that....just honest! So I wanted a flexi-rod set but after she broke it down I went for coils-pull out. Well they came out cute...I even scheduled my next appointment. Aiisha thank you! It's a nice environment and anyone that's natural should try( I'm still a rookie..6months)lol..Thanks Aiisha see you soon
