Ulta Beauty in Tulsa, OK

When I'm running low on cosmetics & can't get to the mall, I'll pop into the nearest Ulta. The Memorial Dr location has a good selection of name brand cosmetics, hair and nail supplies, and there's a hair salon located in the rear of the store. Their customer service is sparse so you won't have much help if you're looking for something in particular. And I wish they had a better sense of urgency in the checkout line.....but the store is clean and conveniently located so it's got benefits!

Stay away from this salon. My teen daughter had foot surgery and has difficulty showering for a little while so I've taken her to a few places to get a shampoo and blow dry. She needed it washed and dried for an event Sunday afternoon, and this was one of our few Sunday morning options. She had an 11 am appointment. I know I told them on the phone that we wanted a shampoo and blow dry. When we got there, the stylist said she was only scheduled for a blow dry so it would cost extra for the shampoo. It sounded odd to me, but we said okay. Then she started washing my daughter's hair. The stylist said my daughter's hair was terribly tangled, and that it would cost extra to get all the tangles out. My daughter does have very long, thick hair that can get matted at the base of her neck. But she had just had a professional shampoo and blow out on Thursday evening, and I'd brushed her hair thoroughly on Friday. I couldn't imagine it had gotten that bad in one day. But the stylist proceeded to take 1 hour and 10 minutes to get the tangles out of my daughter's hair. All this time, my daughter was lying down at the washing station and her neck was hurting against the bowl. I checked back in periodically, but the stylist was still just working strand by strand with a small teasing comb. At no point did she use any detangler spray or a good detangling brush. We are always able to get any of her tangles out with spray and a Wet brush. At one point, I offered to do it myself but the girl ignored me and I didn't press it. I should have just pulled her out of there, but I didn't know how to react at the time. In the end, it took almost 2 hours for a shampoo and blow dry and cost $80. It was surreal. Never again!

I made the mistake of coming to this ulta to get my eye brows done. The woman in the salon completely messed up my eye brows, and not only that she used the hard wax on my brows which was extremely painful.

I went to the salon to have my hair cut and colored about two months ago. I hadn't got around to writing this review but here it goes...I originally scheduled with a stylist whose work I had seen plenty of times and was excited to get my hair done. When I got to the salon I was told she was out sick but that the salon manager would do my hair. I reluctantly agree. Terrible mistake. I showed her both a picture of the haircut and color I wanted. She cut my hair WAY shorter than I wanted. It's still too short two months later. Also, I asked for a burgundy balayage, it came out a bright red/orange. It is now a caramel color. I will NEVER go back. I recently went to a blow dry bar and the stylist told me I had a mushroom haircut, I almost cried. Lastly, all of this comes from a person who is not picky AT ALL, even when something isn't quite what I asked I'm ok. Not this time!
