Twist Salon on 30A in Santa Rosa Beach, FL

I went to Salon Twist under new ownership. I arrived 3 minutes late for my appointment (I phoned to say I would be a few minutes late because I was 1.9 miles away behind golf carts). However, the stylist was told 4 times I was waiting. First time, she would be right out. The second time, she was on the computer. Third time another stylist told her I was waiting. After waiting 23 minutes, I knew I should've left. I mentioned to the kind receptionist I had been waiting over 20 minutes. She replied she is speaking with the owner and has been waiting to speak to her. I then asked if I was her last appointment. Yes, okay she won't be rushed. I sat down to tell her what I wanted and showed a photo which she barely noticed. She wanted to cut my hair dry so she could see what she had cut. Okay, I now realize I should've left immediately (hindsight right?). I said no I want it washed and cut because I had my hair ruined with a dry cut before. She replied but 99% of my clients get dry cuts. As she was washing and pulling my hair we chatted. She was nice and personable. Another red flag, it was her first day at the salon after moving and she had to leave at 4 to pick up her kids. I was anxious Duce she hadn't made a cut. She cut my hair leaving it longer in the front than the back. I had said I do not like during my consultation (found out this when I got home because I wasn't shown the back of my hair at the salon) and after she cut my bangs incorrectly, she knew I was unhappy and pulled out a flat iron to straighten my straight bangs to cut more. I said no. She dried my hair some and said do u like it? I said no, it's flat on top and not what I expected at all. She dried it a little more leaving it frizzy then applied frizz spray but that didn't help. I went to pay and the congenial owner offered to have my bangs fixed on her once they grew out in a few weeks but they looked cute to her. Ah, not to me. I explained how my hair was cut in a limited time due to waiting over 20 minutes and she had to leave at 4, not cut I wanted and I was unhappy. I chatted with the owner a little. Yet, I was charged $95 ($10 more than the previous owner AND the posted price is $85) for a cut I didn't like by someone with less experience. I made an appointment with another stylist I had previously met and she spoke with me twice today. They were out of my product so I asked when they would be getting it in - no idea if they were ordering the new curl line. I will order it from Kerastase if you aren't going to sell it. I asked if trimming bangs were still free in between cuts, it's $15 and a $25 charge for canceled appointments within 24 hours.. So that's why the owner offered for it to be on her in a few weeks. I got home realized how messed up my length was and was so upset I put it in a bun only to discover I was left with huge pieces of original bangs that hadn't been cut on either side and extent of horrible it was. I explicitly explained to the receptionist and the stylist how I had my hair ruined twice before and wanted some one with experience when I had to change my appointment 2 weeks prior. I was reassured this other stylist was knowledgeable. I immediately called the salon to reschedule my next appointment for 2 weeks later than scheduled since my bangs and the length needed to grow in order for it to be corrected. I cut the wings off what was suppose to be my fringe bangs and leveled the front to match the length in the back. Originally, my appointment with another stylist I had met but had to delay due to Covid quarantine. I gave explicit instructions. I wish I would've followed my instincts today after waiting 23 minutes then realizing I was getting a rush job. Yes, I paid $95 plus a tip because I'm not unkind. However, I do expect to get what I pay for and proper customer service. After looking at my hair today, not only was the bottom not level, she did what explicitly said I could not tolerate, a thin bottom layer. Also, my layers are uneven on either side of my face. It's as if she cut one side and not the other. I asked her to shape my hair, clean up the ends overall and not take much off the length. It's the most butchered cut I've had since I found Gina. On the bright side it wasn't the micro banged mullet I got the last time my hair was ruined. I'm very upset to say the least.

coming from Chicago where there are many great salons I m pretty discriminating. THIS PLACE ROCKS! I was greeted warmly, Everyone was wearing masks, the people working there are incredibly professional but personable and remembered me and my likes after just one visit. The owner is a gem and while she did my haircut the first time there was no territorial BS when my schedule aligned better with another stylist for a blow out the next week. The woman at the front desk is a dynamo and manages logistics like the pro she is. Kendall matched my outgrowth perfectly with a single process. This is the only place on 30a I will go when here for the season.

I love Salon Twist and Gina, she is very nice and a great stylist! I have my usual stylist in Houston but I am switching because she is so good and easy to get into. Everyone in the salon is nice and professional, the place is very clean, pretty and spacious. Demetrius Navarro

Salon Twist is a wonderful place. I used to work on 30A for several years and went to this salon, but when my work changed, I decided not to drive the distance and went to other stylists closer to my home. MISTAKE. Some were OK, but inconsistent others were TERRIBLE and after I learned my lesson the hard way.....got an AWFUL cut and WORSE color, I knew what I needed to do....go back to the PROS. Helene did her magic on my hair and transformed a horrible mess into a fun, stylish, beautiful cut and color...I am so thankful for her talents. I was expecting the repair needed to my hair was going to take several visits, that's how bad my hair was, but Helene transformed me in one visit. The salon is always immaculately clean, the owner, Gina, always greets you and makes you feel welcomed. Few salons go the extra mile any longer, but Salon Twist does...from a lovely welcome by their receptionist, offer of water, tea, or beverage when you arrive, ON TIME appointments, a beautiful atmosphere, and lovely, relaxing experience...this is what pampering is all about.

When I called to make an apt the receptionist was very warm, welcoming and accommodating. The proprietor greeted me when I came in, chatted with me and offered refreshments. My stylist, Erin was excellent . I would highly recommend this salon
