Twist & Go in Laurel, MD

If I could give this place zero stars- I would. I purchased a Groupon to visit this place twice. First time - I thought this was a great establishment and I was excited to support this business. Second time, was like no experience I've ever had in my life! To make a long story short, save your time and money and go elsewhere. The shop owner is rude, unprofessional, and has a lack of customer service and integrity. They're also nickel and dimming for every little service. My son's hair looked crazier coming out than it did when he went in. Pictures are worth a thousand words - so I don't have to make this review lengthy. Will never patronize or refer this shop to anyone!

My biggest pet peeve is salons who overbook. I found this salon via Groupon. I booked a 10 am appointment with Hannah. That morning at 8:30 I was called and asked to come at 10:30. I asked how long the service would take because I had other commitments. I was told two hours, but I'd probably be out by noon. When I arrived a couple minutes before 10:30, I was washed by Jerin. Hannah was still taking care of a client, so Jerin started on my hair. Once her client was finished, another came in shortly after. Hannah never touched my hair and my hair was done by a shampoo tech (confirmed by the website). I don't believe that this is acceptable. I did not leave the salon until 2:53, a total of over over 4 hours later. I will not be returning.

Absolutely love Hannah. She is always pleasant, professional, and efficient in getting my hair done. She does a great job for my needs - a good wash, deep conditioning, and twist. Will always be my go-to when I am in between protective styles.

I was a first time customer and liked my experience here. Cynthia washed & conditioned my hair and Hannah twisted it (2 strand twist on my natural hair). My whole experience was nice. The vibe in the shop was great and friendly. I'm definitely going back.

I was very happy with my experience at Twist and Go. I made my appointment the night before and received a text reminder about my appointment. I had a little bit of trouble finding it but once I did the parking was plentiful. When I walked in, my stylist, Malik, was ready to go. We talked about the concern I had with my thin hair that lacks density and whether it would hold the twists that I was looking to have done. He took his time and put several twists in my hair and let me look at it and after more discussion I decided I would go ahead and go forth. The shampoo and conditioning was excellent. I was put under a steamer to help moisturize my hair as I had complained about how dry my hair seems to stay. If there's a negative at all, it was with the steaming process and that it was dripping all over the place. But then after it was done Cynthia (owner?) took a hairdryer and dried my shirt. Malik began putting the twists in and again let me take a look at it a quarter of the way through and he, Cynthia, and I discussed the twists vs. other options. Ultimately, I decided to go ahead and get the twist done. Malik is super FAST. I'm happy with the twists and any problems that I have with them are because of my hair texture and had nothing to do with the stylist. I found everybody to be very friendly and welcoming. They went out of the way to make sure that I was happy and comfortable. The price is reasonable. I've made another appointment to return and get a different style that might be more complementary to me and work better for my hair. I'm aware of some of the other negative reviews, but that was not my experience and I'd recommend them.
