Made an appointment online. Received email and text confirmation and reminders of my appointment. Showed up and waited 20 min but no stylist showed up. The barber was nice enough to call one of the stylists for me and she said she didn't know who was supposed to be there but she could be there in 50 min. I declined. What's the point of scheduling, confirming and reminding me of an appointment if there is no follow through? Waste of time.
I use to go here for a wig braid down. The owner stressed that she wanted more people to book online, so I did. The first time I booked was ok, I had to wait 25 minutes for the stylist but she did a decent braid down (that's the only reason they are getting 2 stars). The second time I booked for 8am another client came in and stated "I am a faithful client I come biweekly this time for 10 years". Mind you she didn't book an appointment. The stylist told me to wait and she would be quick. I waited about 20 minutes and she was only finished washing her hair. I realized how ridiculous that was and left, haven't been back since. Stop telling people to book online if you won't honor it.
I have been get serviced by this stylist for years and am so excited that she now has her own salon. She's very professional, courteous and honest. She's always knowledgeable and extremely engaging. She makes sure to educate you on your particular hair type and the best way to take care of it. She has helpful tips and pointers that I for one truly appreciate. I have brought all of my daughters as well as my mother in law to receive a service and she is hands down everyone's pic. At this point she is just like family. Tamara is the only stylist in our house !
I've been a client of Tamara for years now, following her from her previous shop to now her own salon. She takes her time and is very thorough when caring for your hair. With years of experience in the field, I feel confident that she knows her stuff... I had a TERRIBLE patch of dry & damaged hair in the back that would not thrive when I began my natural hair journey, Tamara turned that around!
Very nice, calm, relaxing natural hair salon. Clean, not too busy and on time. I called last minute on a Saturday and they took me. I came to the salon needing my natural hair done after taking out a sew in the night before. They washed, conditioned and helped me come up with a hairstyle. I got a FroHawk. She braided it up on the sides and put perm rods on the middle and sat my under dryer. There were no long waits at all. I will definitely come back here. So happy she has her own salon now. And not too far from my house.
