It's clean , sanitized and each suite is rented by a stylist, and other professionals in the beauty business. The suites are private fro everyone but your stylist.

It wasn't really the 'place' that was horrible, it was the stylist. Never ignore those REDFLAGS inside your gut! "Cathy" was extremely rude and unprofessional. Before my appt she kept saying "Hun, I do this for a living, I've been doing this for x amount of years. You're in good hands, I promise" Ha! Couldn't have been any further than the truth. Something that should have took 2 hours at the max (i was getting jumbo crochet braids) ended up being 4 hours the first day & 3 more the next day b/c she REFUSED to listen to her paying client. It's a no from me. 1) I sent her a picture of the hair I bought and she said "okay. I can do that". When I went into the shop she didn't even look at the hair to double check or anything 2) I should have had her let me face the mirror when she first started out my cornrows 3) As she was braiding my hair I told her that it was too tight and I couldn't put my chin in down to my chest and Cathy responded with "I'm a professional, I know what I'm doing, just relax" stay away from rm#125 4) When I kept complaining about the pain and would gasp from how much it hurt she said "it's gonna loose up and I'll steam it". As a professional she should know that a little to no pain is expected from getting braids. As a professional she should know that a client shouldn't be wondering about how they will sleep the next few nights and wonder about taking pain medication to deal with pain. As a professional she should know that if a client is in pain , there's probably something wrong. 5) When finally opened up the hair to install it she said "OH! I didn't know they were going to be this big"... seriously? Well, catherine I wonder why. 6) I asked about a travelling fee b/c i am disabled & can't drive cathy responds by telling me it was disrespectful of me to ask her that, then (once again) says how she was all about making her money..? Apparently not, Cathy. You just contradicted yourself. Congratulations. 7) When she got to the top of my head the braids were extremely small and tight. I told her it felt like carpet burn when she pulled the crochet braids through...Her solution to that was for me to take a deep breath & then had the audacity to tell me I should go buy some smaller braids to put at the top...?? Cathy... I need you to get it together. Why would you tell a client to buy smaller hair when this could have been avoided in the first place had you LISTENED instead of being an arrogant "but I'm a professional" kind of a you.know. what? 8) She ended up taking the hair & cornrows out adter i sat in a chair foe 4 hours telling her it was gonna have to come down.... She sent me an extremely rude text message and phone call after I kindly asked if she could redo my hair the next day instead of waiting 3 days since I already paid her the 80$. Somehow that made me an "entitled, whiny, CHILD who gets upset when things don't go my way. Cathy, cathy, cathy.. A) I'm a client so yes, I AM entitled. B) if I'm such a child, then why aren't you giving me the child prices instead of charging me as an adult? C) You're being mad immature and disrespectful. You are twice my age do why am I the one remaining in a calm collective tone? D) Did you really just refer to me as an 'SOB'? E) why are you yelling at me on the phone? *honestly I took my headphones off & just let the old , nearly 40 year oldlady bark like a dog* At that point I just wanted a refund for the job she didn't even do. Just because of her ignorant attitude and horrible manners. 9) She tried to blame it on me and said "I told you it would loosen up". She told me that night that since the job was "already done" *which it wasn't * she'd only give me half of the money back but not all of it because she will be compensated for her time. HAHA!! Cathy. Girl you don't sit down. Once again, had you actually listened & professional we wouldn't be in this position now, would we? *****later that night I had multiple sores, tender spots on my scalp IN ADDITION TO pain that would occur from looking in certain directions and raising my eyebrows***** ****** I did end up going the next day & it was a repeat of the day before. She braided too tightly again, she wouldn't let me see the size of the braids because "Im a professional. Just sit back & do nothing" PLUS she kept referring to me as a "child" & how she doesn't argue with "children" and called me a SOB again***** 10) I ended up taking the hair out my head later that night because the pain was excruciating because of her horrible skills and lack of compassion. I'm sure there is a lot more that I'm missing out on but Im sure i wrote enough as is. I learned a lot of lessons from going to this salon even though it was a horrible experience.---1) Never let a so called professional try to down play you.*2) Just because you may be younger than someone does NOT mean they deserve your respect &kindness.*3) NEVER , EVER pay for a service beforehand.*4) Don't hesitate to file a complaint!
