Always great service at the Hair District. Laura does well with nails and is very reasonably priced. I also like their retail section for gifts.

Alicia cancelled an hour before my 6 pm color appt. She had the office receptionist call me. No apology from her or offer to reschedule me. She has no evening appts. left this week & I leave on vacation on Sunday. Gee, thanks.

Had a horrible experience with the Saint Louis Park location. I asked for a natural looking partial balayage and left with streaked hair of many different shades. Prior to the appointment, I called and explained what I wanted and was assured that there were stylists who did partial balayage appointments. When I went to check in, I was given a different name than the name that I used when booking. During the appointment, I questioned why my hair was being foiled at the roots and also that I didn't want blonde highlights. I was told not to worry. When I saw the color, I said it was too light and asked that a toner be applied to darken it. She said, "I am putting a toner on, but not too long because I like this color. It's beautiful." I said I was concerned because I spend a fair amount of time in the chlorine which tends to lighten hair as it is. Again, she said that I would like it once I saw it dry. The stylist left the toner on for maybe 30 seconds. I again voiced my concern that the hair was too light and that I didn't want blonde streaks, just some caramel highlights. I questioned why the hair by the roots needed to be done and was told "that doesn't matter." I have had a balayage before, and this was not close to what my experience was the first time. The salon was going to close and I was told to text the stylist the next day if I wanted my hair "dyed back to the regular color, but why would you?" I explained that the top was too light, especially around my face and was told, "It is supposed to be that way." I decided to stop going back and forth at this point as I wasn't going to convince her of what I wanted. Needless to say, I asked to speak to a manager the following day. Management never returned my phone call, but the front desk staff left a VM stating that I had a check to reimburse me for the balayage portion of my appointment. I had asked if someone was available to at least apply a toner to the hair so get rid of the blonde streaks. I was told to text a different stylist who never returned my text. When I went to pick up the check, the woman at the desk was rude and slapped the check down, refusing to make eye contact with me. When I asked if a manager was available to speak to, she curtly said, "nope." I find it extremely disturbing that the stylist who did my hair is no where to be found on the websites for the Hair District. I also think it is extremely poor service for management to not take any responsibility for what happens in their salon. I find it very hard to believe that an owner or manager wasn't available at any of your locations to apply a toner to someone's hair to correct a mistake made at one of your locations. Having spoken to two different stylists at other salons and showed them pictures, I was told that not only was I not given a balayage, but that at this point due to the fact that my hair was foiled/bleached, it is going to be very difficult to get any of my natural color back until my hair grows out. The only thing I will be able to do is apply some low lights to cover up what was done to my hair, with the understanding that more chemicals added can mean damage to already damaged hair. I have never complained about a haircut in my life. My hair looks comparable to when I was in 8th grade and used sun-in spray recklessly and laid out in the sun. Extremely disappointed in the service, lack of follow-through, lack of accountability, and rude front desk staff. I will not return to any Hair District locations.

My daughter and I had a terrific first experience at The Hair District. We set appointments at the same time with two different stylists so we could go in together. Both stylists were very knowledgeable and professional and did great work. They even went the extra mile with my daughter who had color treated hair and was looking to change to blonde. They were unable to do it that day as her hair was too damaged, but they took a long time with us to consult on the process to improve the health of her hair. Would highly recommend Emily and Krystale.
