The Beauty Room in Minneapolis, MN

After moving to Minneapolis I went to a salon to get a full foil and wound up with a 90's disaster. I'm pregnant, and my self esteem went down the tube afterwards. I waited a few weeks and decided to give a different salon a try to fix my mess. I found The Beauty Room on Yelp and took a chance with any stylist available. Thank the universe and every star above that I was paired with Holly. And honestly- thank goodness she didn't turn me away when she saw the yellow correction coming her way. Her energy was phenomenal and her humor and conversation are second to none. You know when you want to have that old friend feeling with a stylist when sitting in a chair all day? That's what she gave. She took her time, gave me my confidence back and gave me the best color I've ever received. I'm a client for life- even if I need to fly to her in the future. Holly is a magician. My only wish is that their website had a booking appointment option with color correction so it wasn't such a surprise when big bird showed up.

I had a tint and cut appointment with Amanda Wippler. After nearly 10 years of living in the twin cities, I feel like I've finally found my go-to person! She was terrific! She gave great suggestions and was fun to talk with. And she did a great job, of course. Super happy with the experience and end result

Yesterday, while I was getting my haircut, I witnessed the most unprofessional behavior by the salon owner, Mishaun. While she was with a client of her own, I saw and heard her SCREAMING at another employee of hers because she did not like the type of "sanitizer" this employee was using on her station. She made a scene that was so horrible and unprofessional. It was beyond gross. The salon was full of clients and everyone heard her. The employee that she was screaming at remained calm during the whole process. Then I saw Mishaun take the employee in the back behind the front desk and continue to scream at her for NO reason. Never in a million years have I witnessed such disgusting, immature behavior from a salon owner. She looked and acted like a complete fool. The entire salon heard and saw it all. Mishaun had a client of her own in her chair and continued screaming at this poor employee over and over again. The client that was in Mishaun's chair looked beyond uncomfortable. I will continue to let my friends and other ppl know NOT to go to this establishment to get their hair done. I most definitely will not be returning myself. This salon doesn't even deserve one star. I would give it a zero if I could. Absolute TRASH

I had THE worst experience with Betty Wu. She seems sweet but seems inexperienced to be working with clients (without an extreme discount being given). She filed my nails extremely crooked, to the point where I had to take the nail file and do them myself. In order to fix the problem, she ended up filing my nails all the way down to the point where I no longer had any nails. I still tried to stay calm even though I was disappointed to have arrived with nails and to have to leave with none. After she saw that she was making mistakes, she got very flustered and it was downhill from there. She rushed through the rest of the job and the end result was an ABSOLUTE tragedy. I just wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. The manager offered to try and fix the problem (that she herself acknowledged), but my nails were gone and I was extremely disappointed by the service that I received so I opted to leave with my nails in a WORSE condition than before I came in.

Best service ever! My daughter loves her haircut she felt comfortable and attended to we will definitely be back again! We've been to other salons and the chairs have been so close together that our experience was distracted and disappointing but we felt like we were important and our experience was special. I definitely appreciate the environment that is clearly well maintained and loved! Keep up the amazing work that everyone at the beautiful beauty room does!
