Avant Hair & Cosmetics in Minneapolis, MN

Yesterday was my first time there. Though the price was out of my range, it was worth every penny. Kyndra was fabulous. She was fun and a joy to talk with. She didn't push any product on me, which I normally have happen. It is the best haircut I have had in years.

I had an appointment on Aug 18th 2021. I wanted a complete change of style. I paid for the highest paid stylist and all I got was nothing but shortened hair. He kept asking me for picture of style I wanted. I showed a couple but it was no where close to that. I asked him something and he was like that is common sense and I should know that. He did not wash my hair properly. I paid around $100 for a hair cut. It was complete waste of my time and very bad experience. I told the front desk and she was very helpful. She said she will call the manager to address my issue but I was running late and left: Also, I thought Avant uses Aveda products but neither shampoo nor the hairspray none of the products they used on me were Aveda products

So, I want to start off by saying how nice everyone was at the salon, i felt comfortable. But i came in with something in mind for my hair color and left with essentially the same color i had coming in. I had mentioned i did want something manageable low maintenance but something noticeable. What my stylist had shown me vs what i got was a little saddening. I loved my cut but my hair color was the same color i had with random patches of brown and i could see him trying to convince me this was beautiful and I tried for weeks to see a difference. I paid $220 for a glorified haircut and I just wish I got what I wanted instead of him trying to convince me otherwise.

I went to this salon for years, but I followed my stylist to a new salon. Still, with that said, Avant is a great place. Free sodas, warm towels, friendly front desk. I highly recommend Louise, especially for color correction. But everyone is good.

Kari did our wedding makeup - it was AMAZING! She looked at our idea/inspiration photos and listened really well about what we wanted in our make up. She was super patient with me (not a super makeup-y person) and really in depth with my fiancee (who LOVES beauty products). Our makeup lasted all night and looked fabulous the whole time - made it through the ceremony with lots of crying, going tubing for two hours, and endless dancing. We have a photo of us at the end of the night, and our makeup still looks super perfect. WONDERFUL!!!!!!!! Thank you SO MUCH for being an essential part of our special day!!!!!!!!!!!
