The Beauty Bar Salon and Spa in Auburn, ME

I was a client of The Beauty Bar for over 5 years. But now that my stylist is no longer working, it's a completely different atmosphere. Staff gossiping about clients, talking about 1 night stands, talking badly about people in their personal lives. My pedicure appointment was 30 minutes late and the tech left me alone so long the tub was within an inch of overflowing. My feet were not touched until the time my appointment was due to end. My last few visits were so bad I contacted the owner by email. I waited a month to give her a chance to reply before posting this negative review.

I had a terrible experience here. It really upset me. I had a nail appointment that I was really looking forward to on my only day off before the holiday. the manicurist said she wouldn't go there herself during my apointment which took me by surprise. the gel manicure ended up falling off later that day!!! they refused to reimburse me! even after I explained I didn't have time in my schedule to make a new appointment and that i was really upset that the whole thing fell right off. this wasn't just about money but my time and at the end of the day human decency. terribly upsetting not only on a business level but woman to woman.

On 10/20/22 I traveled to Auburn to get what is listed on the website as a straightening treatment - QiQi. I had a FaceTime consultation with the stylist 2 weeks prior who assured me this chemical treatment would work.
On 10/21/ 22 I was instructed to wash my hair. Total disaster! Not only was my hair not straight - it was frizzy and damaged.
I sent photos to the stylist and manager to no avail . Additionally I have sores that developed and I'm treating them with neosporin.
Please do yourself a favor and avoid this treatment at all cost!
Very unprofessional for a business -

Scheduled 3 services showed up and 2 were canceled after I drove 30 minutes and took leave to get there. They just canceled since the stylist switch my hair appointment to a different day...so they said. No apologies just excuses...didn't offer me anything. Lame. I said canceled the hair appointment then (which was switched to a different day). Then I received messages to confirm that appointment. I tried to call with no answer or answer machine. I texted them too...no replies. So disorganized and unprofessional.

I hate to leave a "bad" review but I will say this. Speak carefully and slowly to your stylist so they understand what it is you want. (Especially if you have the discussion before you get your color done!)  I just went elsewhere and paid almost $100 to have my cut from Tuesday redone!
