the [ iki ] movement in Lexington, KY

The Iki Movement was one of the best hair shop/ salon experiences I have had. The haircut was executed perfectly, and the stylist, Ashton, truly listened and asked important questions. This shop's ethics and inclusive philosophy are a refreshing example of a modern business, let alone a salon. Ashton took her time to walk me through essential styling techniques and products. It was an experience that set the bar from start to finish. I recommend this salon to anyone.

Where else can you go for a haircut and leave with a gorgeous houseplant and maybe ... a belt?  I almost hate to write a review and risk having trouble making an appointment in the future but this business deserves the accolades.  I started coming here after they did the makeup for my daughter's bridesmaids.  I was frustrated by my long term stylist who would never cut my hair any other way other than the way she always did (nice, but...), and seemed offended when I told her I hadn't liked something about the last cut. So - I was ready for a change. Anna has been styling and cutting my hair for a couple years now.  She listens, trys things out, doesn't get offended if I suggest something different, and has great intuition about combining your ideas with what she thinks would look best.  I've loved my hair since going here! In addition to the great salon for hair and skin, the place itself is gorgeous and an organic experience - not only in products but the business itself.  An inviting open space with rooms for hair and facials, now with a leather worker tucked away in a back room, refill stations for cleaning products, other sustainable products, and a gorgeous array of houseplants for sale. Every time I come, there is something new.  Lastly, Anna has done wonders with my 20 something son's hair.  I make an appointment for him whenever he comes home (otherwise he almost never cuts it).  He came home for the pandemic in October looking like a caveman after not having his haircut for nearly a year and walked out with a gorgeous styled cut.  Versatile stylists ready and willing for your challenge indeed! PS - they are very mindful of the pandemic and have everything in place to make me feel safe coming here  - waiting area outside, temp checks, masks, well separated stations, partitioning etc etc.

Celine is the best manicurist around!  She does my S and S every two weeks.  Perfection.  She gives a terrific pedicure.  I highly recommend her.  Besides all that, she is REALLY nice.  What a great addition to the shop.

I went here for the first time recently and I guess because the first cut is free my stylist thought they could treat me poorly. I'm guessing Kelly was in a hurry to leave for the day because she rushed my cut and made me feel like I didn't care for my hair properly. I won't be returning after the pandemic that's for sure.

Best Shampooing Experience EVER!!! I just completed my first appointment with Kelly Rose, and I am stunned.  We talked through my natural hair habits and she provided me with her vision for my haircut.  And, omg, the products?  I haven't used them at home yet, but I'm excited about the future availability to bring-back-and-fill my shampoo and conditioner.  All in all: I'm in love with my hair again!!!!
