Today was the first time I used Tonti Denmond at Nevaeh Organic Salon. She is AWESOME and very knowledgeable about natural hair. She explained every step of the process...as she was doing it. I wanted the Silk Press and am extremely happy with the results. My hair looks healthy and my scalp feels great. The atmosphere of the salon is so serene. She did tell me that I needed a good trim and why. She explained that the trim was required because I had split ends that would continue to split up the hair shaft if not trimmed above the split. She also does no cost consultations if you are a new client or she will opt to consult at the time of appointment. Try her, she wonderfully skilled at her craft. She's now located in Sosa Salon, next to Sam Moon in the Alliance Town Center, Ste. 34. Her number is 214-293-0347.
I'm new to the FTW area. I was looking for a local natural stylist to wash, deep condition, & trim the end of my natural hair. I found reviews on the Salon web page which seemed promising. You're required to use a form of payment to book appointment. The environment is very clean & Professional. The wash & deep conditioning were great however, I left the salon with a cut instead of a "trim". I have a lot of hair and had no idea how much was actually taken off until I got home and started to play in it even though I did mention it looked short while in the chair I was told it was product that was applied after the "trim". A least 2 inches of the length in the back of my head near the nape was cut off and all the shaping I previously had prior to the cut is now gone. I have never had anyone cut more than just the ends. I'm not even able to wear a high ponytail anymore I have definitely learned a valuable lesson. If you go to her please make it clear you want the "ends ONLY trimmed" for $15 otherwise, you may be very disappointed with the result. I did contact the owner to express my disappointment she offered to give me $39. I told her to keep bc I paid $69. Also, I was charged twice due to the booking system or something. Either way I had to contact the owner, she did refund the over payments, but I had to ask for it.
