Steller Hair Company in Minneapolis, MN

I had a partial colour, trim and basic blow dry and the cost was $275/ $330 with tip. My review is about the high cost of the average hair salon task I received, delivered in a basic suburban salon. If I have ever been charged so highly in the USA, even in Minneapolis, for the same service it came with hot towels, massage, conditioning mask, champagne, high end interior design, complimentary samples to keep the style at home easier to maintain etc. At Stellar there wasn't even coffee, tea, anything offered, beyond a bottle of water handed over at check in. It felt cheap and lazy to not offer more. I'm not sure what the expected tip is for really. I liked my stylist a lot and my hair is fine, but the high cost has left a definite sour note, especially since the receptionist who booked me in asked me about my 'price point' [I really don't know why this is a question tbh] and it was way below the end bill.

Awesome salon Super friendly appointment with Ellie. I told her a brief explanation of what I wanted and let her do what she thinks would work best and she did amazing! I asked for a shoulder length cut with layers and full head balayage. I added on a root smudge and the total came out to be $265 which I felt was completely reasonable for the care I was given. I will be returning for my next haircut and color.

I am giving one star because of the very unpleasant experience I had with the salon. I have booked my hair appointment with Steller hair company for the second time because they were good, but the company is not customer focused and customer satisfaction is ZERO. Cancels appointments at their convince a day before without customers consideration. Does not value its customers and their money. Service is not being provided for FREE, we pay full amount, a little respect to customers time and money is needed. I would give 5 stars for my first service, but would give half star if available for the second time.

Relatively small place tucked away in a side street. Really clean, doesn't reek like hair products, and is filled with joviality. Waiting for my friend to get her hair done was comfortable, I was even offered a drink to go with the candy bowl! On the whole a very nice, unpretentious, clean salon that does good work.

I've been in need of a real hair cut and style for a few years now. After Pantene ended there hair donation program, I didn't know what to do with it. I'm also very lazy, what ever the cut would be, it needed to be zero maintenance. I also missed how blonde I used to be in my youth. My aging dark hair longed for brighter days but not at the expense of damaging my hair or needing regular touch ups. After a consult, a lasted cut and a light balayage was decided. I'm pretty excited to say I LOVE IT
