i researched where to get a haircut in the area that was local to me. i called twice to confirm my appointment, got cold feet in between my calls and going because i was so nervous they would butcher my hair. i have curly hair. i have had stylists fuck it up in the past. six degrees popped up as a curly girl certified salon. they are qualified to do deva cut. i did not want the deva cut specifically but I wanted someone who could navigate their way around a curly head of hair for a trim. they scheduled me with a stylist who was inexperienced cutting my hair type. which i thought was odd as i called twice to go over the appointment. i stayed to go ahead with a deep conditioning treatment that i needed. the stylist doing it said my hair was "crispy" and needed a cut. ya don't say skippy? that's why i came. the stylist then applied product to my hair. i left with wet hair by choice as my hair type dries out easily so i never apply heat to it. once my hair dried at home it was clear to me the stylist had no idea what they were doing when they styled my curly hair.
i would not recommend this salon for anyone interested in curly hair treatments.
I absolutely adore this place! The location is perfect right in downtown Portsmouth, the views of the river are amazing! The decorations are beautiful and it's just such a relaxing environment!
Brittany is amazing and I could not recommend her enough. Not only is she a great stylist who is excellent with curly hair, but she is so sweet!
Britney and Riley always do an amazing job on my hair. I get a bakayage and they always make it look amazing. Everyone is very friendly and I highly recommend going here!!
I went to Six Degrees for the first time and was extremely impressed. Brittany was fantastic! She asked all the right questions to figure out exactly what I wanted - and recommended a balayage treatment, saying that I could call her back a few days later if I decided it wasn't for me and she would do highlights for free. I love how the color came out - highly recommend!
Riley is the best! She always does an amazing job with my super blonde, curly and thick hair. I won't see anyone else. Definitely make an appointment you won't be disappointed.
