Elda is simply the best. I moved away from Evanston a few years ago and have not been able to find anyone since (including at extremely expensive salons) who does my hair as well as she did. I miss the comfort of knowing I will walk out with amazing hair and getting to hear about her and her daughter. I will add that I have thick hair that is not the easiest to cut/color but she always handled it with ease. Go see her!
This was the worst hair experience I have ever had. The salon charged me 300 dollars to move up tape in extensions that were falling out. After ripping at my hair for 2 hours, they deciding that they didn't have time to finish the job and I had to come in the next day. After having to spend the rest of the day with my hair covered in glue, they put the extensions back in the next day without clarifying my hair. The extensions all fell out within 4 days. The salon refused to give me a refund. I also have damage in my hair due to the horrible re application of the extensions.

I had my first visit to Salon Lamia today. Elda gave me the most beautiful cut and color that I think I have ever had. I have thick, coarse, wavy hair that was damaged from bad color jobs and I walked out with gorgeous, soft, shiny hair with a great cut and beautiful rich color. Elda worked magic and I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. Thank you so much! I will definitely be back!
Maybe it's just that men often get less respect at a salon, and they were polite and friendly enough, but, this was one of the poorer haircuts I've had. They principally used thinning sheers (or some sort of different scissor), like a razor blade, to cut my hair. That was a first. Literally a first. I went with it. After a few weeks, my hair was unruly and uneven. Not like usual. (Because the cutting wasn't ordinary either.) Weird experience and unhappy outcome I'm afraid. Hopefully it's just an anomaly and I'm sure they are nice and very talented people.
