salon L in St. Louis, MO

I've been going to Salon L for years. Prices are reasonable. The place is clean and they have quite a lot of products for sale, but the cosmetologists at Salon L don't try to upsell you like the big chains do. Salon L feels rather calm for a salon. It's not, like, spa-calm. I think the owner has done a good job of making sure the place doesn't cause sensory overload.

I see Jill. She is very nice and is efficient. I saw her today for the first time in about a year. I had a partial foil with my fine, thick hair, and I was in and out in an hour and a half. It cost $110 which I think was a good price. My hair looks better than it's looked in a long time. She had a good memory for what was up with me last time and that was about one year ago. She remembered my pet and travel statuses and asked for follow-ups. Does she have great memory or do I have memorable tales?

Street parking here. You may have to park up a few houses up. It's not far.

Here is the latest with Salon L.

Again today a large SUV was parked well in front the parking sign.  I called to let them know it was blocking vision and dangerous to make a right or left turn.

The girl who answered the phone was rude and unhinged and called the police on me for letting them know the car needed to be moved back at least 5 feet. There was plenty of room as you can see from the photo.  

I don't understand why they don't tell their clients to be more respectful and park correctly according to law.

There is plenty of room across the street and just beyond the alley.

Amazing how these days that the people who are 100% WRONG try to spin things and not take responsibility.  Truly amazing!   A month ago I did ask to have the owner (Lorie) call me so we could have a civil chat ... CRICKETS!

How stunningly UNPROFESSIONAL.. break the law and then blame someone else!!

I've waited to calm down. Hair is, after all, a renewable resource. I probably wouldn't be quite as upset if not for a family wedding (and the requisite photos) this week. I was recommended to Jill for a cut and color. The color is good; the cut is not. I came prepared. I had photos of the front, both sides, and back of the hairstyle I've worn for several years and described it as slightly angled and lightly layered. It's now neither. I explained I wanted my hair to be about 1 1/2" longer than in the photos. It's now about 3 1/2" too short. I can't get it to lie correctly and, since I've styled this hairstyle every day for several years, I doubt it's cut correctly. In summary, see Jill if you need your hair colored, but don't let her near you with scissors.

I've been visiting Tabitha and Salon L
for the past few years. I always have a great experience even though I can be a very particular customer. Tabitha is always so attentive, easy to talk to and skilled at cutting and styling hair. Over the years I've recommended a few friends to visit her and I'm happy to say that everyone has had a positive experience.

The only comment I have is that it would be lovely to have more parking available. I find myself circling the block a couple times before I can find a spot.

I love Salon L.  Everyone is so nice there!

I love getting my hair cut and colored with Jill! I have been going to Jill for years and I always leave feeling so much better!  Jill does an amazing job!  The color and my hairstyle look great!  I got sooooooooo many compliments this weekend!
