Salon del Sol Midlothian in North Chesterfield, VA

Went back after several years of going elsewhere. Ferran, master stylist, did save my hair from a previously bad highlight experience that caused my fine thin hair to significantly break off ! She definitely knows what she's doing but the cost of this salon is outrageous!! It was almost $400 to treat and correct the damage but worth the cost to repair the damage and properly highlight my hair!I have been back for a cut and highlights again and paid over $300. I don't know how often I can keep that up! They've redone the shop and tried to make it more chic and modern which does look nice! But again the cost is unreasonable and may prohibit my continuing!

Lauren made significant mistakes in my highlighting and only after the fact when I went back for a corrective appt, she had a multitude of reasons as to why the original requests were "complicated" and couldn't be achieved. However none of which she expressed PRIOR to attempting the service . In fact she initially reiterated on point her understanding of what I was asking for and fully acted as though it was simple and not at all did she express it was "complicated" until I had to call her out for the total erroneous mess she made of my hair ! She did not take it in stride she was unprofessional and rude and not at all understanding of how frustrating it is to be charged close to 200 dollars for someone to totally mess up your hair when she could have just as easily said she didn't know how to do it in the first place . Corporate refunded my money but only after being totally biased in their view of the entire situation and showing little to no objectivity in how their staff handled the situation in totality. In talking yo Corp contact Alex Filer she would make inflammatory statements towards the entire situation when I spoke with her such as, "it's just hair", " we all have bad days" and "we all can mis understand ". When asked specifics for example I asked about the owner she said " the owner isn't female" and "she's sitting right across the hall from me and her door is open you are on speaker so she can hear this " as if to ensure to express their approval to condone the very behavior that was the subject of my call and diminish it entirely. She was very dismissive and and took every opportunity to be condescending when she could but tried to hold herself as a professional who would see that this situation was addressed Will never return to Salon Del Sol and will continue to tell everyone and anyone of this experience to deter any business elsewhere

A very snobby staff who think they can do no wrong. They are expensive and there is one stylist who is vindictive. They will talk behind your back,too !

Jewel is a true GEM! Loved my experience here and I will be back. Jewel did a great job, in a nice relaxing atmosphere. Worth the drive for me.

Cannot comment on their other services, but do not go for nail services. My "appointment" took 2 hours and at the end I still had my previous gel polish on 4 nails. Cuticles were barely touched. The gel polish that was put on wasn't put on evenly and there were bubbles and strange streaks. It cost $70 with tip and I spent an additional $20 at cvs to get supplies to remove the polish it was that bad. I regularly get manicures from a place in the city and it has never taken this long nor cost this much...and the place I normally go is high end. Only reason why I came here was I thought I had a gift card to use, turns out the sender of the card used it for themselves (not the location's fault). Wish I had the 2 hours of my life (and the $90) back.
