Salon 776 in West Hartford, CT

Completely forgot to make a review when I had my hair colored here last summer. I wanted to dye my hair grey since Hallie Barry had silver fox hair in X-Men, so when it became the "it" color last year, I decided it was time to do it. After contacting a plethora of hair stylists on StyleSeat.com, Julie replied said she can make it happen. I have semi-thick black hair and I have a lot of it. My hair was bleached once and it came out with so much dimension I was shocked that was even possible! The grey looked beautiful and though it lasted briefly because it was a fashion color, I intend on coming back to 776 to have Julie chop my hair and play with it again. People continue to compliment my "ombre" bleach hair these days.

I had Tania do my hair for my June 27th wedding.  Tania did such an amazing job!!  From the beginning Tania was an excellent communicator, and during the trial had some amazing suggestions.  She was helpful me I had doubt in my hair style, and made me feel confident.  The day of the wedding Tania was on time, and was able to get through me and my six bridesmaids, my mother, and mother in law.  She did a fantastic job, even my bridesmaids said, "You selected the best glam squad".  Tania also brought along Heidi to assist with the make up and did an exceptional job!! Thank you Tania!!  Tania is no longer with Salon 776 and can be found at Off Center Salon & Spa in West Hartford, CT.

Went to Heidi for the first time 5 weeks ago. Color and cut has held up beautifully. Her prices are great too!! I can't wait to see her this Friday. She's so accommodating and the sweetest. She deserves tons of props for fitting me in two weeks after having a baby.

I booked an appointment with Tania because I purchased a  $25 Groupon for a haircut and conditioning. I also requested in the appointment for my hair to be blow-dried straight for an additional 25$.

She seemingly acted friendly and gave me a relatively decent haircut, although she did not spend the time required to  blow-dry my hair properly  and left several segments POORLY straightened which I had to point out to her when she "finished" and I requested that she flat irons through some of those sections or otherwise my hair would not remain straight. She did a little bit of flat ironing and told me she doesn't have the time for this because of her next appointment I should just flat iron it myself at home.

She did NOT SEEM INVESTED in my satisfaction as a new client or genuinely concerned about having a good final outcome. I understand that she had another appointment scheduled immediately after me and was starting to run late, but it is very common for people to wait a little bit in a salon for their turn.  It is VERY POOR BUSINESS MANGEMENT and BAD ETIQUETTE to book appointments so close to each other that SHE RUSHES her clients out.

When it was time to pay, she requested 30$ for straightening my hair, so I handed over 40$ and she did not give me my change back until I asked for it.  It was a bit awkward  to presume a 10$ tip, although I did end up leaving 5$.

When I expressed my DISATISFACTION about being rushed out of my appointment and my hair not being straightened correctly she responded by telling me that she did not want to be late for her other appointments and next time to request more time when booking because my hair is long and curl.  She left me with the impression that she had  spent enough time on me for the money she was getting. It was also EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL of her to mention that she only receives 12.50$ from groupon, this is not information that concerns a customer who paid a 25$ value.   She should have been smarter about building a steady cliental and using groupon as a strategy to attract new clients instead of COMPLAINING about the value she receives from them.  

When I left the salon but was still within earshot, getting my coat from the closet by the door, I heard her and the other women in the salon laughing at me. This is very IMMATURE BEHAVIOR, which only reflects poorly on their character and the establishment as a whole.

I had a bad first experience with her not because she lacks the skills to do a good job on your hair but due to her business management and treatment of a potential new client.

Found a groupon for Hedi Heather and went there today! She was so nice and great to talk to. She did exactly what I asked and made sure to ask my opinion on everything we talked about during consultation. She gave me an amazing deal and my hair came out perfect!  Came with a picture and my hair looks just like it. I would highly suggest going to Hedi to anyone!
