Kai is the best! He is an excellent stylist, colorist and barber! Found him by chance and now won't go anywhere else!

Not only does Kai give gorgeous hair, he is a positive light and will keep you laughing. His salon is so cute and easily accessible and texting to make appointments is super convenient. Thank you, Kai - my hair feels amazing!

Arrived to my 7pm appointment tonight, pulled in and saw the lights were off. Walked up to the door and it was locked, knocked a few times, called (no answer) and then went back to my car. Sat there for 10 mins, thinking maybe they stepped out for dinner and were running late (was trying to give them the chance to redeem themselves). Texted them, called a few more times. No answer, straight to voicemail. Got back out of my car, knocked on the door, no answer. Messaged the owner on Instagram, no answer. Drove away angry and shocked that a business does not have the respect to call a client to cancel. Not only could they have called, or texted but they also had my email. ZERO excuse as to why you should have a client show up for a BOOKED appointment with the door locked, lights out. Thought the price, $150 for keratin was too good to be true--guess it was. Doesn't seem like Salon 1803 values their customers. Wouldn't recommend wasting your time!

I haven't seen many reviews of Salon 1803 from the perspective of a curly client, so here's mine! I saw Kai today for a cut and color for my very overgrown, very curly pixie. As with most curly folks, I was nervous to go to a new stylist, but Kai listened to what I wanted and clearly knows what he's doing with hair of all types. I told him I like big, retro curls and he totally respected that when cutting and styling. He started out by cutting some of my hair dry, which allowed him to work with the natural shape of my curls. It's a technique I know a lot of the curl experts of the world recommend, so that was reassuring! When we got to the coloring portion of the appointment, Kai took my vague notions from our quick consult when I walked in ("I want a sort of natural redhead look") and delivered a gorgeous dark coppery color that I totally love. All in all, I got an awesome cut and color that really aligned with my wishes walking into the salon. Couldn't be happier! I also think it's worth mentioning that while I was there, Jessi and LaShawna were pulling off some truly amazing hair feats, including bringing one client's totally damaged hair back to life and lightening another client's long blonde hair to a gorgeous almost white-blonde color. These are the real professionals in the area, and I wouldn't go to anyone else!

100% would recommend. I've been going to this place for about 2 years and I'm always satisfied with my haircut. I was the first person in my family to find this south shore gem of a salon, and now my whole family goes here. The salon itself is smaller than you might expect, but the service and results are second to none. Kai and the entire staff are so welcoming and friendly and will always keep you on the edge of your seat laughing. In addition to through, complete cuts for men and women, they also offer complementary shampoo and styling and have a great variety of hair products to chose from!
