Regal Nails, Salon & Spa in Huntington Beach, CA

This review is for my experience today. I've been in several times, and received polite, professional service from female workers in the past. Today, my nails were done by John, and it was a pretty bad experience. First, as he started the acrylics, he knocked the box of tool attachments (the part that actually touches the fingernails) all over the filthy floor. Then picked them up and used them on my nails without cleaning them. Then I asked him to file them down shorter, explaining that they grow quickly, and I use the keyboard all day, so shorter nails work better for me. He said "you eat a lot all day too, huh? That's why you grow fatter." Then turned around and joked around in his native language and he and his coworkers spent the next five minutes laughing and joking in their language. Yup, I'm overweight. I'm also on a diet and doing really well with it. Fortunately, I'm old enough to not feel discouraged by his total rudeness, but I am certainly offended and never want to deal with him again. Completely unacceptable. Toxic environment!

I had a terrible experience with John, a nail tech there. I have been a loyal customer for many years, but since I moved to Irvine, I had not gone much because of the drive. I was in HB and decided to go in to get my nails done for a wedding. I trusted John because he always did a good job with my mothers nails. I get there and show him the look I was going for. Without asking me what color I want, he just got all the supplies he needed and got started. The first issues came when I asked for clear powder expect for pink powder (I don't usually like pink on my nails, and thought this was a reasonable request) Instead he immediately had an attitude and said "I'm doing it like the picture!" to which I said, I just don't usually like pink. He rolled his eyes, but whatever, I didn't pay too much attention to that. What got me REALLY upset was when it came down to the base color for the nails I wanted. Again, he just picked the colors when I showed him the picture so I did not get to choose. When he showed me the color he picked, I asked "Can I look for a more nude color? I don't want a peach color on my nails" which is the color he got me. Again came the attitude and he said "I'm doing exactly like the picture!!" To which I responded " That was the look I wanted, but the idea I had was to have a nude color for the base. Can I just look at the other colors?" He threw a tantrum and walked over to another lady and took her gel colors FROM HER HAND and gave it to me and said "If you don't like the color I picked, then pick one yourself!" and started probably talking crap about me In his native language. I immediately shut down because I do not handle conflict like this well, so I ended up saying fine and just doing what he picked, but said I am not going to pay to get the tip design I wanted on. I did not want him touching my hands I was so angry. The owner was the one doing my pedicure (which I didn't know) and when he was done, she asked me if I was happy with my nails and I said no. And let her know that I was very upset with his attitude and behavior. I would never treat a loyal customer like that (who always tips well because I usually have a wonderful experience). I told her "What are you gonna do, he's the boss" and she said "No he's not!" which I then replied, "He sure acts like it, the way he walks around here and talks to people". I have never been so upset or felt so dissected because of a NAIL COLOR. If I wanted to change my mind and do hot pink, I should have the right because I am paying. He took it personal and it made him so rude and unpleasant to be around. I will never be going back and my mother will never be going back. My mom was one of their highest tipping customers because she loved John's work, and everyone there. She always had a wonderful time there and used to praise how their nails always last her the longest. P.s. The owner was very helpful and understanding. She ended up doing the tip for me right next to John which I know he didn't like. She still charged me for them, which I feel like it should have been comped, but it really wasn't about the money. She said she would talk to him, but I see other reviews with John treating customers poorly, so I don't think these "talks" are doing anything.

I go to the Walmart here and wanted to try the nail salon. I have visited three times within the last year. Training: they are quick and were able to do acrylics and eyebrow waxing. I would recommend the technicians train in modern practices to remove acrylics to ensure the safety and health of the customer. I had acrylics for the first time and the technician used another nail tip to slide under and rip the glued set off. It left my nails peeled and damaged. The nail on my pinky finger was ripped to the nail bed. She put glue over it to seal the crack. I had to ask to lay down in the back because I was feeling faint from the pain. No incident report filed and no follow up was done. This was my first time getting acrylics so I didn't know there was a safer way. You can see from the nail growth that my pinky from the crack is coming off of the nail bed. The healthy growth from my other nails shows how much of the original nail was peeled off. I tried putting sally hansens nail strengthening formula to save my nail but unfortunately, half of it came off - leaving the nail bed underneath exposed. Professionalism: the technicians I worked with on my first couple of visits were polite and friendly. I was seated right away and they are following COVID safety protocols. They have masks and sanitize tools and stations. They waited to eat food until most of the customers have left and ate near the back.

Dont judge by the location being inside Walmart!! Got served by Yen and i requested a black French tip. She worked fast, yet remained meticulous with painting the edges of my nails.. more precise than any other nail tech ive had in the last 6 months. She did a clean job and it didnt chip or peel during the 3 weeks i kept this look. I returned to her with gel removal, and even then, she was gentle handed and left my bare nails looking a lot better than before.

Worst manicure I've ever had. The guy man handled my purse and wouldn't give me my charging cable that I just purchased from Walmart when I asked for it. Moved my stuff without asking and when I said I wanted rounded nails he handed the nail file to me and asked if I wanted to do it myself!!! WILL NEVER GO BACK
