Love Flor, I'm natural and she does a great job with my wash and set. I travel from Brooklyn every two to three weeks to see her.

I just wanted to change the rating to one star, but I could only do it by reposting my review. Definitely does not deserve beyond one star. After 4 years of self care and a new amazing stylist which I will maintain privacy for my hair grew long again, but no thanks to this unprofessional salon that butchered it years ago. Following up my January 2019 review with additional feedback since a Yelp reviewer liked my thorough review and had additional questions privately. I am updating my review for Querida's because I believe in providing honest feedback of the places I go to. Apparently I am not the only long term client who has noticed significant changes at this salon for the worse. I will NOT be returning to this salon ever again. Altagracia is the best stylist, she was MY stylist for 10 years and unfortunately she does not work there anymore. A talented woman like her was bound to move on and she did, she has her own salon in the Dominican Republic. I miss Altagracia very much and no one can match the skills that Altagracia has. I have tried other stylists in this salon after Altagracia left in February 2018 and since Altagracia left the quality of my hair has DEEPLY declined. The owner's sister Jackie (she had dyed blonde hair medium length hair) is the one who messed up my hair and I did not realize right away until allowing her to do my hair a few times at the end of 2018 and it would only get worse after each time I had did my hair with her. She was the only one doing my hair so she is the one that gets the fault. She was also the one washing my hair with harsh chemicals against my permission and the chemical smell was obvious. Avoid her unless you want your hair destroyed. Not sure if it was intentional or she genuinely had no solid experience with hair care, but she caused destruction to the quality of my hair very quickly that took me many years to repair because I had to keep cutting off the chemicals she placed in my hair from the scalp. Suing is a waste of time because it is hard to prove, but it is certain that everyone that intentionally does something bad to another receives the same misfortunate at some point in life. I will start with the wash. I have NO IDEA what they are washing my hair with, but it definitely isn't a good quality shampoo, heck it does not even smell like shampoo. It smelled like chemicals similar to a perm or relaxer. I know exactly what that smells like because I went to a vocational high school, took up Cosmetology and dealt with hair care a good majority of my life. If that is what they decided to do they are very wrong and unprofessional for that. Placing products in my hair that I did not ask for is a turn off. My hair does not need these harsh chemicals that is why a lot of my hair fell out in chunks all over and looks super lackluster. I am not sure if they are mixing those chemicals with conditioner, but it seems that way and smells like it. All of this foolishness started after Altagracia left. Altagracia was always a professional and I never smelled chemicals when she did my hair for 10 years. Literally after she left, the salon used low quality products and you could smell it. The containers that they use have no labels either in the wash area. BRING YOUR OWN SHAMPOO IF YOU GO. My mother cannot come into the salon as often, but she has done her hair at this salon numerous times over the years. She went a few times at the end of 2018 as well for some pampering and did not like the service. She was treated terrible and that made me furious because my mother has been going to this salon for a very long time just as I have to be discarded as if she is a new client. Also she wanted her hair colored jet black and her hair was dyed a dark brown shade instead. She arrived just before 11am on New Years Eve and left the salon close to 4pm. Numerous people who came after her left BEFORE her. She had her hair washed, but her hair was not set right away. Meanwhile other people who came in after her had their hair washed and SET while she waited with wet hair. This such a huge disappointment for me because I had been going to Querida's for 10 YEARS, but after seeing how horrible my hair has gotten over in such a short time I refuse to return and will not waste my time recommending this place to others. I feel like they are ruining peoples hair on purpose to get people to return to "fix it" and that will only turn people away. Now I am going to continue to focus on home hair pampering to restore it. New Years Eve was my last visit at Querida's. The lack of professionalism, skill, and attention to detail is what made my decision final. If you wish to have the quality of your hair go down then go here. I do not support this place anymore.

I've been coming to Queridas since my preteen days. My mom, sister and daughter all come here with me. It's literally about 20years of coming to this salon. I plan on coming here forever ever. I absolutely love this place. Flor and Arelis are the only two people I trust with my hair. Anytime i come here I know I'm going to walk out with my hair looking great. I always get a deep conditioner when i come, rollers and a blow out. They have plenty of dryers so multiple people are getting their hair done at once. One thing i also love about this salon is the prices. They are reasonable and fair. I highly recommend this salon. Ask for Flor. You won't regret IT.

I was given a suggestion to go to this salon by in law but unfortunately, it wasn't good at all. I just wanted an even bob with straight ends. The hair stylist I have no clue what her name is, she has blond highlights over brown hair. She may have really nice hair but her skills were definitely way off. My bob came out with layers instead. My ends were choppy not straight. The techniques she used on my ends weren't proper, it was something my mom could've done for me. She didn't take her time to do my hair even though there wasn't a single customer she needed to attend. She blow dryer my hair but it was super hot and it scalded parts of my head. After I went back home, I realized that the bob wasn't even at all, one side was longer than the other. Never ever going back here again. My aunt in law ended up fixing my hair and I ended up fixing my hair again.

Luz has been doing my hair for 3 months now and it has never been longer and healthier. I'm a regular for sure!
