Top barbershop in town hands down all great barbers  professionals super clean shop I mean CLEAN !!!!! Basically cover all bases this is a real community barber shop in Portland well done Sherman and staff

I am sure we just had a bad luck at this place since their overall rating is so high but I really would like you to read our experience and let you be the judge.  So we walked into the salon at 4pm on Saturday.  As we walked in to the salon, we saw a barber sitting at the front desk so I said 'hi'.  No response from the barber.  Instead, he looked at me like I don't belong there or did something wrong.  Anyhow, we told him how we want hair to be trimmed and he was very argumentative about our requests.  (Btw all we asked was to trim the sides and back and leave the top long) He finally agreed to give hair cut for $25 each.  He was a control freak, he wanted us to place our jackets, glasses at the certain location and certain way, he just could not stop criticizing us about our hair, wanted to know when was the last time we 'combed' our hair.  At the end, he started saying we have too much hair and it's going to be 'too difficult' unless we pay $40 per person for hair cut. At that point, we had enough and walked out from the salon.  We were insulted by a control freak at this barber shop and never going back to this place for anything unless we want to get insulted again.  They have a Very rude stylist working there.  Be careful who you ask for.

Love this place, everyone is really friendly. Both of my sons and their dad get hair cuts from Cody. Cody does fantastic work!!

I have visited this shop twice. The first time was 4 months ago on a Sunday at 10 a.m. because they advertise this time as business hours. I found the only barber in the shop with the lights off, asleep on the sofa with pants sagging so low I could see the plumber crack. I knocked on the door and he slowly awakened and opened the door. When I asked if the shop was open he replied yes but stated he couldn't give me a haircut because he had an appointment at 10:30.  I politely said thank you for your time and left. I showed up today at the same time (because these are the business hours listed on the website) and found the establishment locked with no lights and no sleeping barber. I recommend that if you need a haircut, you should keep it moving.

I've been getting cuts here for 2 or 3 years and I'm always pleased with the results-- clean shop, friendly staff and all the barber's take great pride in what they do. I've had most of my haircuts done by Sherman, the owner. He's a perfectionist and always makes sure I walk out looking the way I want to. The haircuts I  get here always turn put better than I imagined.
    The barbers at Platinum Fade go the extra mile to provide excellent customer service. I had an appointment with Sherman for a haircut yesterday, but he arrived late and I left before he got there. When I walked into the shop today, he apologized profusely and offered me a free cut for my trouble. His standard of service was no different just because he was doing it for free. Not only was it just the cut I wanted, but he did it fast. I was so pleased with his work that I wanted to tip, even though the cut was free. Sherman refused to accept any tip, though I practically begged him to take my money. In all honesty, I would have paid him the full price for a cut, regardless of the previous scheduling issue. He's that good. He's a really good man and an incredibly talented and professional barber. They do good work and Platinum Fade is where I will always go for a haircut.
