The one star represents the 1 person in a bridal party  of 3 who came out  with an "ok" updo.  The rest had to have their hair totally done over by the bride's stylist  which cost extra time and money.  The stylist was shocked to see someone had made a ponytail, wrapped it. In a circle, put a few pins - practically falling apart 20 minutes after it was done- totally not cool-  that poor bridesmaid had a "stylist" who did that in under 10 minutes and had the nerve to charge $65.00.    Not everyone is great with  an up-do. ..  i get it- but If your salon cannot accommodate wedding parties with talent when Undoubtedly people are trying to look their best - just say you don't do them. So much easier for everyone.

I moved here two years ago. I was lucky to find Pure.I had checked out other places.

Stephanie is excellent at coloring my hair and she, and her staff, do a great job cutting my husband and father's hair.

I am very impressed with their work and their prices.

I'm dropping the rating to a 1-star. Not because I paid for a service that I never received, but because it was such a headache just making the appointment(s). And while I appreciate the offer for my money back, I don't appreciate that  the owner messages me that I'm "bashing" "complaining" and "one-sided," and then publicly comments that she "understands."

In the messages I've received from the owner regarding my first review:
The owner told me that she's tried calling me, but that I've disconnected my phone number.
--1) I haven't disconnected my phone number. 2) I'm not thrilled that my contact info at the spa is being used by the owner to address a yelp review. 3) Less than a month ago I was receiving voice messages from more than one person at the salon, including the owner, and now they don't have the correct number for me? weird.

I responded to the owner that I'm sorry if she dislikes my review, but that I felt that it was fair and honest - below a 3-star "A-OK" experience, but above a 1-star "eek! Methinks not."
THEN, I receive another message where the owner tells me I'm "bashing her salon."
--Bashing would be a 1-star rating, and not taking the time to explain what happened. In my review, I took the time to point out that the owner called me herself, apologized and offered a solution. Bashing would be to have left all of that out. Bashing would be to only highlight the bad, and not mention the good. Bashing would have talked about how I called the salon and made an appointment, but then a couple days later received phone calls from someone else at the salon saying they're calling to schedule my appointment, and that I finally had to talk the owner just to schedule that first appointment. INSTEAD, however, I simply referred to this as a "miscommunication between staff."

THEN I receive yet another message from the owner saying  I'm being one-sided by complaining and not calling to let her fix it.
--1) my reviews are my opinion-just my opinion, and are by definition one-sided. 2) If I expected the salon to directly address my concerns, I would have complained directly. 3) When i was initially informed that the service I paid for couldn't be fulfilled, the solution I was offered was a $40 credit, not my money back.

THIS REVIEW IS JUST REGARDING MY EXPERIENCE WITH A VOUCHER AND MAKING AN APPOINTMENT - NOT FOR ANY SERVICES THEMSELVES.  I'm sure....others...will be able to provide the Pure Salon and Spa glowing 5-star reviews on the services provided. I can't though. I'm sorry.

All this because I tried to get a discounted spa treatment; ha ha, so much for relaxation and rejuvenation!
