Like most people, I really needed a haircut. My usual hair stylist is still out so decided to take a chance on this place. They can take walk-ins unlike other places where an appointment is needed. Rosie did a wonderful job with my hair! She is meticulous and took her time to make sure everything is even considering the fact that they are starting to get busy. They only take cash for now like most salons around the area. Give them a try and support local businesses during this difficult time.
The workers here are extremely rude. I went here to get my hair done for an event. They kept talking shit about my hair in Vietnamese, not realizing I understand the language. I waited until the end to respond in Vietnamese and they looked embarrassed. I didn't leave a cash tip but a pro tip for this place is to avoid it at all cost.
First come, first serve but they play favorites. I have been coming to this barbershop for over a year since moving to San Jose and they get my requests right about 30% of the time. Before coming here I had a pretty good mid-fade with medium length hair on top and short on the side. After requesting for a mid fade, I ended up with an undercut so that's that. Ever since, I would ask for a low fade knowing they cut higher than expected. Only keep coming back because their prices are great but it's a mixed bag. Sometimes I get an amazing hair cut, sometimes I have to go back 30 minutes later because the barber didn't blend my sides and I can clearly see the line when she changed guards. Overall, it's okay. Kind of forced me to write this review because I went in, five minutes later, two guys arrive and the only available barber serviced them first. They acted a bit surprised to go first so I'm assuming they didn't actually call ahead and reserve.
Chi has been cutting my hair and my two sons for almost 4 years. As long as I live in San Jose I can never go to another barber. She's great, she's always consistent on what type of hairstyle you want, and also beautiful. Great place My son-"Hi it's shane :0 I like this place it's Kool"
10 bucks plus tip for a great fade. i'd definitely come back if i'm back in town. space is clean and they are open late.
