NAIL TEK & SPA in Meridian, ID

I used to go here quite a lot before COVID and really loved it. They were welcoming and made me feel like I belonged. Well, after not going for a few years, I finally went back this last summer (drove out of my way past several other salons to get there) and the place had a whole different vibe. The owner, Ha, who used to be my nail tech, was not at all friendly when I walked in. I'm sure he didn't recognize me as it had been a few years, but should that matter? The staff was not very friendly when I walked in. I sat and waited for awhile , and no one was communicative about where I would sit. Finally, when I was matched with a tech, he was a nice guy. I went in for a gel manicure but he talked me into dip nails. However, any communication I tried to have with him after that was stilted. After my nails, he did my pedicure. My thumb nail looked really odd, a bit thick and wavy. I noticed he kept looking at it while he was doing my pedicure. He never asked or tried to fix it. But kept going back to staring at it. This was the first time I'd had dip nails so I wasn't super aware of how they should look, but the fact he kept looking made me wonder. Later when I got home I looked closer. I feel like when he noticed something wasn't right he should have offered to fix it. I'm just really sad because I used to love this place, but this experience put a really sour taste in my mouth. Especially the feeling that now that I wasn't a "regular" and was unrecognized, that I wasn't valued as a customer. I won't be going back.

Needed a last min new gel set on a Sunday. Laura took care of me and not only did she do an amazing job, she was a sweetheart and extremely personable. She took her time, paid attention to detail, and made my overall experience. I will definitely be coming back to her and making this salon my go to.

If I could give zero stars I would. After making an appt and waiting for a week and a half, I went in with high hopes. Unfortunately, I wanted ombre dip on my hands and gel on my toes. They had no colors that would match my hands and she put on a dark red color and I wanted hot pink. Then she didn't want to soak off my toes after I told her that my big toe nail was a bit thin and it hurt, she continued to grind. Same way with my hands kept yanking my hand saying for me to move my chair closer and used a grinder to cut my cuticles - cut me several times. She literally filed my nails and grind my nails after applying the dip 4 times then as my husband and I sat there, a lady came in off the street, she waited no one addressed her so she stepped forward and asked this chick if she cld get a pedicure, the response was no we are full. As she said ok thanks and walked out the chick then makes a comment calling her racist because the lady asked her instead of anyone else she said and I quote "maybe she didn't think you all cld speak english" it was so unbecoming to this business and I'll never go back. I thru down 135 bucks too and woke up this morning with my hands and feet sore - what a waste!

Finding a nail tech who knows what you want and delivers great service every time is key. After researching reviews and weeding through both good and bad reviews here in Meridian, I decided to give Nail Tek and Spa a try.

And I am happy that I did! V does a great job with hot gel and my nails look awesome. I have been going there since February and now book appts 2-3 appts in advance as he does book up quick.

On one occasion I broke a nail... and he made time for me that evening to come and get it fixed! Now that's awesome.

very pleasant experience. they were running behind, and kept apologizing and thanking me for waiting which is rare and appreciated. once i was seated i had wonderful service! I had a very simple, well done gel manicure.
