Nail Art Salon & Spa in Capitol Heights, MD

I have attempted to make 3 appointments with this nail salon to no avail.. There is always an issue in making appointments, what type of nails do you currently have and they cannot do etc.. . After multiple attempts in trying to get nails and feet done, all efforts have been exhausted...

It's difficult to know where to start this review, so I will start here: the only thing that you need to know about Tenicia is that she is both an exceptional artist and a phenomenal business woman. I have experienced the chop shops that constantly make you wait and don't honor your appointment time, then leave you with mediocre work that peels and chips within days. I've walked into "nail shops" (which this is NOT) and walked right out when I can see filth with my naked eye. I am beyond fortunate to have found Tenicia. She honors my appointment time every time, doesn't rush perfection, is passionate about professionalism and fastidious about hygiene. She could write a book for small business owners. I've been going to Tenicia for over a year and my nails are the most healthy and beautiful that they have been in my entire life. Tenicia is always ready for me when I get there and she has never once interrupted my service or cut it short to entertain a walk-in and chase a dollar. There are no words to describe how much I appreciate that. I book my appointments far in advance because I value Tenicia as an artist and businesswoman. And I can tell that she values me as a client because my time is always dedicated to me and my nails are nothing short of iconic. The pictures I've attached don't lie. I would never hesitate to recommend Tenicia to anyone looking for perfect nails. As with any exceptional beauty professional, it is wise to book an appointment. I would never walk into a hair salon or spa and expect a professional to rush another client's service just to take care of me. Likewise, don't walk into Divine Inspirations and expect to be serviced on a whim. She is so busy that she usually doesn't have time. Do yourself a favor and make an appointment.

I walked in like I'm going to support black business, sadly to say NOT. First off the lady I spoke with was rude. It was only one person getting service and two people working. She seem bothered when I ask a series of questions about my nails. On top of that she didn't offer any help or ideas. I will never come back here AGAIN!!! Not sure how they received good reviews. Their customer service sucks and I couldn't get pass that. I went up the street to get my nails done and they look great! Sorry maybe next time but NEVER!!!!

I like to patronize minority business. I look for them specifically. I can't remember where I found out about this salon, but I'm glad that I did. Located in Capital Heights, at my first appointment, it was kind of hard to spot. Be aware of the parking, as some of the spots are assigned. Upon walking in, use the door on the right to access the nail salon. Appointments are made online, and Tenecia prefers that appointments are made at the half hour only. No problems there. Nice selection of colors to choose from, and the place is clean. I noticed that Tenecia takes the time to clean the bowl in between clients, which I totally dig. Also, she uses new new tools, like emery boards, and buffers for each person. My first appointment was a gel mani (with designs of course) and a pedi. Let me tell you, it was one of thee best pedicures that I have EVER had. She is absolutely excellent at what she does. I loved the gel manicure as well, because she actually does a manicure; you know soaks the hands, trims the cuticles, massage, and the like. She totally takes her time. My nails were shaped beautifully, and they actually grew! Woop! My only issue, is that my mani didn't last as long as I would have expected, but that could totally be me, because I'm super hard on my nails. Oh, another plus is that she totally accommodated me (in between clients) when I chipped my toe...see uber hard on my nails. No matter here though; because, my services were done well, and it is fairly priced. I will definitely be returning.

Finally found a nice black owned salon in the DMV. 6 mins from my house is a perfect distance. I did not realize the name changed, as i looked on google, but I'm happy I visited. I came in and found out about services being generally appointment only. I was able to get an appointment later in the day with Tenicia. My basic mani and pedi was great. It was a relaxing experience, my tech did not talk much, which I appreciated bc I wanted to relax. She used clean and disposable instruments on me. She took her time and was clearly a perfectionist. I was ready to sleep after my pedi. I will be back!
