Modern Nails in Lancaster, PA

My last visit here was the worst experience at a salon I've ever had. I had asked for the tech Tina (a friend who had a good experience thought that was the name of the tech she saw) and she was the most unpleasant and downright meanest person I've ever encountered at a salon. She placed foil in my fingers to get my old dip manicure off, and left the station for my nails to soak in the acetone. While she was gone, I stretched my legs after coming from a long busy day at work. When she came back to check the nails, she without a single spoken word kicked my foot and pushed my knee to indicate I should move my legs. She didn't kick hard, but I was shocked by her actions. She sat down while giving an annoyed sigh and rolled her eyes. I'm not one to complain and I can get very passive when placed in an awkward situation. Not wanting to make a big deal out of it, we continued with the manicure. She began asking me to lean forward and hold my arms straight to her, to the point where I felt like I was leaning out of my chair. My shoulders began to get tired and when I leaned back a little, she tugged my arms forcibly towards her. She swatted at my thumbs several times while commenting I don't know how to hold my hands correctly. She rolled her eyes at me when I accidentally smudged some of the gel while placing my hands inside the curing lamp. The appointment just got more and more uncomfortable, and I kept apologizing to her throughout this appointment because she seemed annoyed with me. I've never had a tech make me feel like I'm not able to sit or hold my hands correctly, and I would never intend to make anyone's job harder. She began to notice I looked upset, and started asking if everything was okay. All I could do was nod. I left and still tipped her. Honestly, I'm frustrated with myself I didn't say anything. I can be a passive person, but there's still threshold for how much meanness I can handle. I had a pretty bad week, and I think I was more inclined to cry than get angry on this day. This experience in combination with the horrible week left me really emotional and I cried when I got home. I went into the salon thinking getting a manicure would cheer me up.

$35 for a nail fix and color change, my fix was a few quick dips in dipping powder (after I told them I had acrylic) no filing, sanding, smoothing or shaping of the nail and I'll let you make your own opinion on the rest!

Customer service is non existent. Nail tech makes personal phone call, treats customer like theyre just a pair of hands. Speaks to other techs ...not in English...around you. Nail quality is good and can be excellent when the tech is less distracted. If you just want good nails and dont mind the lack of hospitality its a good place.

The customer service is pretty bad here. I had a Deluxe pedicure and Basic Manicure booked with them 2 weeks in advance. I also called 1 week before to confirm my appointment. However, when I got there they could not find my appointment at all. Then I was given an inexperienced tech for Pedicure. She was great and friendly but could have done better on my pedicure. The thing that PISSED me off was that during my pedicure, I asked to change my REGULAR POLISH only ONCE and ONLY ON ONE TOE. Apparently, that was a big deal because the tech was like "OH MY GOD" while rolling her eyes. And all of a sudden, the owner and my tech starting bickering in their language with an annoyed voice. I recorded their conversation on google translate and they dint have really pretty things to say about me. Then, it was time for my manicure and I was passed on to another tech. When I got to his table, the VERY FIRST THING he says to me is "Okay, I'm not changing any color for you Okay". That was THE RUDEST THING EVER!!!! At least greet me first, say "hi" or "hello" or anything. He put on tips for me and I showed him the picture of what I wanted which was typical SNS Pink and White ombré nails. However, he did not want to do them and I was passed on to another tech. Kiev, did an excellent job for my nails and he is the reason I'm giving them 2 stars. Then, I was passed on to someone else for my Manicure. All in, I wouldn't re-visit this place. It was first time at this business and needless to say all my last visit.

I was in town for my son's soccer tournament (live in Harford County, MD) & I feel I was drawn to this place! From the beautiful energy of the plants before you walk in the salon to the welcoming of the owner Andrew as soon as I walked through the door! The space is clean & the color aesthetics definitely my vibe! Andrew worked very quickly and efficiently!! I love my nails Thank you Andrew for your hospitality & my beautiful nails! Nothing beats great customer service! Everyone smiled & is very friendly here I may have to make a trip back to Lancaster to see you again
