The monthly membership is fantastic! So many choices! So glad I am making self care a priority- massages, pedicures, facials, waxing... And Rachel has done an amazing job with all my haircuts too. I've been to this salon several times over the years for waxing and pedicures due to its convenient location (for me). It's a bit on the pricey side, so I generally go here when I can't get an appointment at my usual salon. I had an amazing pedicure here just prior to the Covid lockdown and couldn't have been happier with my experience. Once nail salons reopened after lockdown, I went to my usual, (less expensive) local salon. I was really impressed with the safety measures implemented to protect staff and customers. Plexiglass dividers were everywhere - between pedicure chairs and also separating the pedicure technician from the customer, in addition to dividers at manicure chairs. I thought this was the new protocol to expect from all nail salons. When I arrived at Miracle Salon, they followed the expected Covid protocol of contactless temperature check, hand sanitizer application, and mask requirement. So far, so good. However, once in the mani-pedi room, I noticed the lack of plexiglass protection in the pedicure area. I was also surprised that the technician was not wearing gloves. The technician did a good job on the pedicure itself, though she was suffering from allergies (according to her) and was exhibiting symptoms of a cold or allergies, with lots of sinus congestion and coughing. I actually felt sorry for her because she clearly was not feeling well and apologized every time she coughed or had to blow her nose. At the same time, I felt like a manager should have sent her home with pay to ensure that customers couldn't catch whatever she had, in case it was a cold (or even Covid) instead of just allergies. Who really knows these days?! In any event, I would have felt more comfortable if there had been plexiglass protection at the pedicure chair. For my manicure, there was a plexiglass divider at the station. However, I soon learned that what I thought was a regular basic manicure was actually scheduled as an "Express" manicure. It was clear to me that something was off when no lotion was applied to my hands and my cuticles were left dry and not sufficiently filed. When I mentioned these issues, I was told that I was in their books for an "Express" instead of a "Spa" manicure. I don't fault the technician for this misunderstanding, but think this should have been clarified on the phone when I booked the appointment. In my experience with manicures, the most basic service included proper filing of cuticles and application of hand lotion. This was remedied when I "upgraded" to a "Spa" manicure at an additional charge. Honestly, the "Spa" manicure was what I expected of a basic manicure. Overall, I found the price for the services rendered to be excessive. It also wasn't a relaxing experience for reasons above. I didn't feel like I had been to a spa, though the salon charged spa-level prices.
I have been going to the same stylist here for almost two years. The past couple times I've gone my hair hasn't been quite what I wanted but I was still happy with it. This changed a couple weeks ago. I asked my stylist to give me ash blonde highlights, even showed her a picture of highlights she had previously done to my hair that I liked. She clearly rushed through my highlight and haircut. My hair was very chunky orange/yellow highlights. The ones in back were bleeding into each other and extremely unnatural looking. I payed over 200 to have it fixed and recut at a diffwrand was offered only half of what I paid for as if that would makeup for the time and money spent to fix her mistakes. Attached are pictures.
