MAW Beauty Hair & Makeup Studio in Cumberland, RI

Took my first trip here on Saturday as my hair artist Kim Sousa just started working out of here. Kim did a great job (as always), especially considering I really don't tell her what I want. I have all the confidence in the world that leaving it in her hands is going to have me leaving a satisfied customer. Melissa was there as well and was very personable. I like the place a lot, quiet and peaceful. I'll definitely be back for more!

Just booked Melissa for my wedding!  Great trial, held up all day on the rain.  She is extremely professional and detail oriented.  I have very curly hair and she does too so she was great with my curls!

I came to MAW a few weeks ago to get a blowout, flat iron and trim, and I will absolutely be back at the six-week mark! I saw a Yelp review months ago for MAW, and I've had the website bookmarked for as long! I finally decided to give it a whirl, and it was absolutely worth it. The space is very cute (but a little hard to find if you aren't familiar with the building - it is in the courtyard!). Melissa was very professional and did a great job. I have curly hair that I typically blowout/flat iron myself, but I've been looking for someone I can go to for regular trims and for those times that I just really don't want to do my own hair! My issues with finding this "someone" have been finding someone who consistently does a good job and is professional (e.g., shows up when they say they will, doesn't double and triple book appointments, etc.). All systems point that Melissa is that person. She is soft-spoken, but very easy to chat with and has a very chill vibe. She did a great job on my hair in a reasonable amount of time and her prices are reasonable ($40 for a blowout, flat iron and trim and only $30 for a blowout/flat iron). She does a lot of weddings, so I would imagine it is unlikely that you'd ever show up for an appointment and find the salon packed with people. She indicated that she is very flexible in terms of scheduling, which is handy. I was very pleased with the results and will be back. I'll update my review accordingly!

I visited Melissa yesterday for the first time to have my hair cut. What a great find! Her salon is in a refurbished mill building and she has created a warm, clean and inviting space. Melissa immediately put me at ease and we chatted as if we'd met many times before.  

There was no waiting time and she quickly got to work on my hair, checking in with me about the length and style to make sure she understood what I wanted. Her attention to detail was obvious and when she finished I was thrilled with the results.

Melissa mentioned that she specializes in weddings and I can imagine her calm demeanor being quite welcome on what can be a stressful day. Last but not least, her prices are very reasonable.

Melissa did an awesome job on my hair/makeup and my bridesmaids' hair! She was easy to work with and always responsive when I contacted her with any questions. Her prices are very reasonable and it was a major plus that she was able to drive with her assistant to our hotel the day of the wedding. She was very professional and knew exactly what she was doing. I received compliments all night about how she did my hair. Also, I never wear much make up normally and she listened to my concerns about "overdoing it". It came out just like I wanted. Thanks Melissa!
