M Hair Studio in Nashville, TN

I found this place with pure chance, but I love it so much. Literally cannot give enough kudos to this salon -- and Rachel in particular!

Please take a gander at my before photos, bleeding red, orange, warm.... Which is the exact opposite of what I had asked for with my previous salon. It is unfortunate as I'd been seeming my last gal for about 1.5 years, but this color is unforgivable. Especially as this was my third time giving grace on things.

After my last appointment, I couldn't even look in the mirror. I immediately got home and started searching for a new hair home. Found M Hair and then stalked (sorry) the stylists. I really was in love with Rachel's work. Plus.... Best name ever, but I'm biased :)

She is amazing, truly!! Look at this before and after. She took the orange warm roots and transformed my head into a natural looking, dimensional work of art. Dark roots that look like they actually came out of my head, blended beautifully. She was beyond understanding, kind and graceful in my time of need.

I have gotten countless compliments since my appointment and I owe it all to her. Plus, she gave me quite possibly the best blowout of my life. It lasted 3 days.

The entire staff was fun and energetic to be around, they use the best quality products around, and I could not be more thankful to find this gem of a studio.

When I moved to Nashville it was difficult to find a salon where the employees didn't look like Bret Michaels or a member of Mötley Crüe. Which is fine, if that's your thing - but it's not mine. The ladies at M. Hair Studio are comfortable and naturally just themselves. The studio itself is bright and airy, chic and simplistic. If you book online you can create an account which gives you the ability to look at their calendars and pick what day and time works best for you.

They're genuine, down to earth, and welcoming people. Sam is my stylist and I am always super happy with my experience when I leave. She's easy to talk to, knowledgeable, and someone you can be comfortable around. I trust her to help me make decisions on my cuts, color, and product selections. Katie is usually there when I go in and she's great as well. Conversations with them are always something to look forward to.

I used to go see Hannah, who was great with curly hair.  Unfortunately, she's since left. I had one terrible experience here and it had to do with management. I was pregnant for the first time and had gotten the worst tension headache in my life, throwing up, couldn't stand, out of nowhere. I had to cancel last minute because the idea of keeping upright was impossible.  At this point I had been going there for over a year. The owner, charged me the full amount of the haircut appointment. Hannah even asked the owner if it could be waived given my loyalty, but the owner still charged me in full despite me never cancelling last minute before. ZERO COMPASSION. It just left a bad taste in my mouth. I even asked the owner why she was doing this given my track record and she never replied to my e-mail. Hannah made up for it personally to me, but the business itself just zero response. I saw Hannah a few times after that until she left but feel no need to find a different hairstylist there just given the uncompassionate management. Find somewhere else.

Can I recommend Kate @ M. Hair Salon? She  is the best color stylist I have found in my life as she is great with blondes and I love her organic color she uses.  She is extremely knowledgeable about what she does and the "why" behind it. She uses NO chemicals on my head at all as I am sensitive to toxic hair products.

And she makes me feel as though I look like I am 21 again...even though I'm retired!  Lol.

I had my hair done last week by Kate. She did an amazing job with my color correction!! I got balayage,  baby lights, and a bright money piece. I really like how she worked the highlights into my current grey pattern so my color lasts as long as possible. Definitely going back!
