Linda's Nails in Newark, DE

First time here and I must tell you that I was asked to pick a color(which is normal). I said yes I already did. I showed her and she let out a tisk and gasp at the same time because I picked "regular polish". She said gel was better and proceeded to yank and push my hands all over during the treatment. To top it off "regular polish" must have been old. After sitting under the fans for 15 minutes and then an additional hour after leaving the place my nails still weren't dry.  Plenty of disgust and pictures. Granddaughter redid them and did a better job...guess who got the ladies tip?

I called on Sunday to see if I needed an appointment and the man who answered said he doesn't take appointments on Sundays. So I arrived at 12:30 and he and a woman were the only 2 working. He said it would be a 10 minute wait but it was 1/2 hour. There was a think layer of nail dust all over the chair, the menu, and the surrounding area. The pedicure itself was fine but the cleanliness and customer service were not great.

Good looking nails at a good price. Super nice ladies. Took us right as we walked in.

I love  going to Linda's Nails! I see Linda mostly because her work is impeccable. You can tell she  takes her time to make sure the nails are polished and shaped well. I haven't found anyone else who matches the beauty of nails the way Linda does!!!! I also love that staff still masks, as a nurse in the hospital & a person with young children at home it makes me feel safe enough to come out and get my nails done.

I hate to leave a review like this but I'm very disappointed. I finally found a place that I really enjoyed going to that did a good job. My husband and I went for the first time together last year while I was pregnant and he then got me $200 for my birthday in gift certificates. I used it once for a pedicure before I had my baby. Fast forward through a year of being busy at home with a baby during Covid, being cautious of going places, I wanted to treat myself on my birthday and go get a pedicure. Something I don't have the luxury of time to do ever. I realized that the gift certificate expired after a year and I was ONE day late. And was told that it could not be honored. I called the next day to speak with the owner and was offered $30 for my remaining $130 I had left. Excuse me. After a while of back and forth I finally got him to at least agree on covering my pedicure, $45, and take the loss of the remaining amount $85. Insane. I'd understand if I was weeks or months past the date, but one day. Come on. Especially given the circumstances. You already made your money so what are you losing. I went for my pedicure and cringed on the way out as I handed over my $130 for it. It's a shame I will not be returning to this salon on the principal of this.
