Clean. Curated. Courteous. Ambiance 5 - Monster wall of polishes serves as the backdrop to a very clean nail salon. Love the minimalist white on off white look. Staff 5 - the owner made my day. I was the driver for my daughter and her friend who were getting manicures. Without hesitating, she offered me a massage chair and water while I waited. She even brought over a table and a stool for my bag, books and coat. Service 5 - they were slammed when we arrived. My daughter had an appointment. We waited 5-10 minutes but they set everyone up massage chairs for the wait. Loved that even though they had a ton of customers, they still took their time to do a good job. We closed down the place. Also appreciated that many of the staff members said good bye to me as they left. Keep in mind I'm the non-paying person sitting in their free massage chair for the length of two manicures. Accessibility 5 - easy to find parking spot.
Several friends recommended Lily's so I gave it a try! I love that you can make an appointment online and when I got to my appointment I did not have to wait, which was nice. The salon is light and bright and clean, which was another plus. All in all I had a pretty good experience but didn't love that I was charged more than the website prices indicated.
I really wanted to like this place. They are close to home, the owner is nice, and they do a nice job. If you book an appointment you WILL end up waiting a minimum of 30 min past your appointment time. It doesn't seem to matter if your appointment is the first or last of the day. I gave it a few shots (crossing my fingers they'd figure it out), but no luck. Last time, I sat with my feet in cold water for 20 minutes before I called Glamour Nails at the West End. They got me in right away. I felt bad walking out, but I needed to get it done so I could pack for my early AM flight!
I would use them more but they really overbook. I don't see the sense of an appt if they take so many other appointments or walkins that you have to wait a long time to get in or as happened once with an appointment one person worked on two of us that were given the same appointment time, no we weren't together, and it took way longer (an hour longer) to finish than it should have.
I made an appointment with a specific technician and when I arrived I was seated with a different one, even though I said I had an appointment. Tommy was rude and did not honor my requests regarding nail length, shape or color. He was also very rough and when he was finished my nails hurt. I love this salon and was so disappointed! Please be mindful of specific technician requests in the future.
