K Beauty Lab in Ewa Beach, HI

This whole time I thought I wrote a review already...shame on me. The amount of times I raved about this place to literally everyone I know is insane; you would think I work here or something (I just love a good self-care place) Making an appointment here is like the Hunger Games -- I had to make reminders on my phone and make sure I was on the dot or I knew I was going to miss my chance. My first experience was back in October and I recently went again in December. Making an appointment for two people can be a bit confusing/a struggle but Chloe was kind enough to help me out and accommodated to our needs.

Quick Prep:
- switch out footwear for theirs (don't forget to switch back at the end...oops)
- change in the bathroom to their robes
- cleanse your face (best to come with no make-up)
- take off any necklaces
- utilize their locker and keep the key with you

If it's your first time, you get a detailed skin analysis as she breaks down your results and answers any questions you have; you even get to find out your color palette! The results get emailed to you so you can dissect it even further (its a lot of information so I was glad I had a chance to look over it on my own time) For my second time, we did a quick skin analysis and got to compare my results from last time to see if there were any improvements! It was cool to see that I was doing something right but I wish I got to have a copy of those results as well to really see the comparison

The whole experience was pretty relaxing and peaceful and the workers are super sweet! I wish they were able to explain each step in detail; it would be nice to know what was happening on our faces but there is a language barrier so hopefully one day we can find out a way to communicate that aspect. For now, we trust in the process :) Would I come back again? Ya girl already made another appointment in April (birthday present for me heehee)

I was searching for a body massage business close to Ewa beach. This business kept popping up in my Yelp search. After reading the reviews I decided to try and make an appointment online. This is actual a skincare/facial business. The 1st available appointment was 6 weeks out. I left a message hoping it was a computer glitch. I never heard back so I booked a body massage somewhere else. This business called me back about 3-4 days later and said they had an opening the next day. Someone else canceled.
It was a little confusing to find. It's located in a residential area. I found them on IG per the owner and there are explicit driving instructions on their page. Parking was a little time consuming but I did find some street parking. Nothing like parking downtown or anything. Just a lot of reserved spots. I wished I had asked to film the experience. It's exactly like the videos out there showing a Korean spa experience. You go into a room change into a gown , wash your face and lock up your belongings.
Chloe then did a scan of my face and then went over the results. I'm out in the sun a bunch and really hate hearing about all my sun damage. She went on for about 5-10 minutes about the importance of sunscreen. I was SO glad she didn't try to push a bunch of products sales on me. I loved that!
We went upstairs and I was a little surprised seeing a row of tables lined up. No private room. My facial expert  spoke a little English. I do know Korean and  like to listen to hear what they say to each other in Korean. I wasn't sure what was going on and it would have been nice to have them tell me the steps they were doing. She was massaging me on the down times ( mask drying) etc. I would say this was the best facial I've ever had. The only thing that might be of concern to others is the last mask she put on me was so thick I couldn't open my eyes or mouth. If you are claustrophobic you may freak out. My facial expert was also rifling through papers, tools etc a lot and seemed excessive but probably seemed that way because it was so close to my ears. I felt kinda bad because I was unable to leave a bigger tip because I left my regular credit card and didn't have much cash. Definitely will come back when I come back to Ewa.

They do not return or follow up on phone calls....terrible customer service!!!The manager Chloe doesn't check on messages? I left a message over 8 times!

I wanted to love this place like Fivestars, but I guess I wasn't getting the experience that I expected from a spa. I showed up late to my appointment by 15 minutes because there was an accident on the freeway. I tried to call and speak to somebody and let them know that I would be late, but no one picked up the phone for the three times that I did call. Once I got to the spa, I told them I was sorry that I was late. they immediately showed me to the bathroom where I changed and then sat me down in front of the computer for the skin pictures for the assessment. They did not ask my name at all or ask what time my reservation was at this point. Chloe took pictures of my skin and the results were jaw-dropping. I thought my skin was in a good place, but clearly from these pictures and the assessment I had a lot of work to be done my my skin. I really appreciated Chloe going through through the problem areas of my skin, and what my areas needed to be worked on. She did not recommend any products to me which I was really hoping for good Korean skin care recommendations, but even after I finished my facial, no one recommended any products that they sold in their spa, so I was quite disappointed in this. I do like that they email you your skin assessment and pictures. After the skin assessment, you go upstairs to the area where they do your facial, which is not a private room, but instead, the beds are lined up like in a row, and you are in a room with a bunch of other people. The Lady that did my facial did not speak a lot of English and when I asked what she was doing at what product she was using she could not explain to me at all. Another lady did do some portions of the facials also , so I felt like multiple people were working on my face and nobody was telling me what was going on. I did book online to have a facial done with Chloe, but the actual facial portion was done by multiple other people. The only part that Chloe was involved in was the initial skin assessment and pictures. Overall, the facial felt really good And I wish I had known what was going on. Maybe next time if I do try this place again and I are on time I would have a better experience. But from what I'm hearing from a lot of other people, that is the similar experience like a manufacturing-labor line where you just go through the steps in the process and you're in and out quickly. The facial wasn't really a personalized experience. Since you are in this big room with other people, you can hear people walking up and down the stairs the whole time and you can hear the ladies speaking to each other in Korean and it's not as relaxing as I would have hoped the experience would have been for a spa. I hope to try this place again so that I can validate this review.

My bestie and I were so excited to try this place, that she literally set an alarm for the day Chloe dropped her appointments. After three months of waiting we finally got a slot!

K Beauty Lab is located in a residential area with either street or guest parking. Make sure you are parked in a stall that has a sign that states guest parking.

Once you go in, you take off your shoes to put on the house slippers that she has. After checking in, then you step into the restroom to store your belongings in a locker(don't forget to take the key with you!), put on your cover-up, and wash your face with the cleanser she has. She has this machine that takes an analysis of what kind of skin you have and let me tell you, I am very ashamed of what the result was compared to my bestie lol. You do get a copy sent to your email of your results, but the thing it didn't have was the color palette.

Next, you head upstairs and that's where all the magic happens with Chloe and her team. We both did the signature facial but I also added the anti-aging as well. Literally felt like I was heaven. Everything they used felt so nice on the skin. They made sure you were always comfortable and let them know if anything didn't feel right. Facial included a massage damn I felt so relaxed afterward lol.
