Just Your Style in Baltimore, MD

I walked up to this store this morning at 10:30AM as I mistook this place to be a plant shop given the beautiful display of flowers on in the storefront window. One of the self-identified stylists, an older white woman - perhaps the owner - prevented me from opening the door fully - she stopped me before I could do so, cracked the 1/4 of the way open, and asked "can I help you?" I hate to pull the black card out here, but I am a black male, and this felt awful. Is this how you'd treat a potential customer or someone who'd like to refer others to your business? Like a criminal? Like an intruder? This is absolutely not typical behavior when someone enters a place of business. How do I know that? Well, I've been entering businesses - salons included- my entire life, and this is the first time something like this has happened to me. I can't see how this can't be racism/discrimination. I wonder if she would have done the same to my white girlfriend had she shown up. I'll give the owners a chance to respond to this & explain to me how this was not discriminatory behavior, and/or if this is how ALL people are greeted, and if a satisfactory answer is provided, I'll gladly remove my review.

Linda is incredibly sweet and gave me a wonderful bob haircut! Most times when I get a haircut they cut it way too short or just don't do what I asked them to do, and I leave having paid 100+ dollars for a haircut I hate. My haircut cost $30 and it is perfect. Partway through, she asked if the length was good and I asked for another half inch to be taken off, and she actually did stick to the half inch! If you want a reasonably priced haircut by someone who is genuinely nice and also does exactly what you want, this is the place!!

Following the recommendation of a friend, I went to "Just Your Style" for the first time ca 3 months ago. I was trying to grow out a short hair cut for nearly a year and needed some clean up for uneven and split ends. Linda, the owner, did that very well. Thus this week I decided to take the plunge and go back to a shorter hair cut. I had only a vague idea about the style, so I discussed this with Linda who then cut it into a layered bob which works excellent for my fine hair and adds lots of volume. BTW my college-age son had a haircut done by her male stylist 2 months ago and was very happy with it as well.

Best hair stylist ever! Linda is the owner and extremely kind and genuine. My mom and I have been seeing her for years. She does amazing highlights, she takes the time to weave through layers of your hair to add the highlight to pieces she previously highlighted, for a very natural look. Her prices are AMAZING! I spend less than $100 to get a full head of highlights (I have thick hair) and wash and cut. Not only is she a sweetheart, but she has an adorable rescue pitbull that sits quietly in the corner as she works. By far the best place to get your hair done!!!

There is a serious lack of information on this salon. They need to post their true hours somewhere. I saw on locality that they are supposedly open at 9am most days, including Tuesday's, so I came on a Tuesday at 10:30am and there was no one there. It was a 20 min walk over there. I'll call next time to make sure someone's there!
