Definition Salon & BlowDry Bar in Baltimore, MD

Made an appointment for a blow out for a rehearsal dinner and wedding weekend. Received an email confirmation at the time and then a text and email confirmation the day before. Showed up on time for my appointment and it was closed. Tried calling and waiting over 20 minutes for someone to show up and no one ever did. Never received any follow up and am now down money because I had purchased a groupon for them. Extremely disappointed and unsatisfied.

Had a scheduled appointment showed up to the salon and it was closed. Was supposed to be open an hour prior. No explanation and no message received about salon being closed for any reason. Poor service

Myself and 2 other friends had updo appointments at the same time for a gala. We got emails 45 minutes prior to the appointments cancelling them. We were told the ONE stylist that was doing all our hair at the same appointment time ?!?!?! Had a family emergency. We walked to the salon to discuss matters further and the salon was closed. This was a Saturday! We spoke to other local businesses that claimed this is a frequent thing with this salon. Very poor professionalism.

So sad to have to rank this place so low - the location is great, but my experience was just terrible here. I chose this salon because I needed an updo and face makeup for a gala I was attending. I made the appointment ahead of time, then called the day of to see if there was availability to come earlier. The receptionist adjusted my appointment to be 30 minutes earlier than my original appointment. However, when I arrived my stylist said she never got the message and had booked another client, so I needed to wait. I returned to the salon at my original appointment time, and was asked to wait again because she was with the same client. My appointment ended up starting 45 minutes after what I had scheduled. Now for the services... I brought photos of the hair style I wanted - honestly, it was a very simple updo - and one that I have asked for at other salons without any problems. I looked in the mirror after she completed it, and I was just so disappointed. I've never actually seen a worse updo, and also one that didn't even remotely resemble the photo. I asked politely for some adjustments, which she made, but we never got close to the desired effect. She noted I had short hair and the style was difficult, yet my hair is past my shoulders and I have had multiple stylists previously execute this hairstyle. Since we were running late on time already, I decided I would just fix it when I got home. Now for makeup (I honestly should have just left after the updo). I was asked to bring my own foundation, and I had requested eyelash application. The stylist glued them on, and left a big smear of excess glue on my eyelid. I mentioned they didn't appear to be glued appropriately and she insisted they were...within minutes of leaving the salon they fell off. As for the rest of the makeup, I was asked to bring my own foundation, and then the stylist proceeded to cover my face in bronzer. No other makeup was applied. Like, none. At this point I was just trying to leave without making a scene. I really was shocked at the poor quality of the services. When I asked her what I owed her, the stylist didn't know the prices to charge me. She actually asked me to look up their price list online. An updo was $75 and makeup was $95 with lashes - when I commented that she didn't apply any makeup besides bronzer and lashes, she offered to charge me half for makeup. I honestly just wanted to leave the salon so badly that I paid it and left. I rushed home with enough time to barely scrub the makeup off my face and frantically fix my hair before the gala. Long story short - There are so many better salons here in Baltimore to go to, I'd highly, highly recommend looking elsewhere. This was a nightmare!

I was in town for a wedding and needed a quick blowout. I arrived with my hair pre-washed and ready to go. The stylist was super friendly and polite. However, upon checking out they tried to charge me $65 even though I did not get my hair washed. I was shocked, and somehow the price went immediately to $55...I wasn't told there was an upcharge for using a styling tool and usually a blowout is just...a blowout. Doesn't seem like you need to use an iron to get a subtle curl. At home I pay $65 for a wash, cut, and style at a comparable salon. Again, really nice people, but much more expensive than I thought necessary. 20 mins after leaving the salon most of my curls fell out.
