Dealing with hair loss for any reason can be traumatic. I knew that I wanted a wig and I wanted quality.  I made a consultation appt with John Rutter salon and headed down to Cheat Lake, WVA.  The first thing I noticed upon entering was the display of wigs on shelves sitting behind the desk. I don't normally see that in beauty parlors. Off to the side I saw they had hair extensions and a shelf for hair care products.

Another thing I noticed that each hair station was in a private room as opposed to being "out on the floor" for more privacy. My appt was with Kristen and she took me to one of the rooms to discuss wigs. I didn't want human hair because of the cost factor and because they are a lot of maintenance. The only plus side is that they are long lasting.

She suggested that a quality synthetic is the way to go. She noted that synthetic wigs are easy care and have an average 6 month span with proper care and usage. Still I could get more than 6 months depending on usage. We discussed wig care and I was told never to put your wig on a mannequin head. Instead they would provide me with a wig stand free with my purchase and style and wash my wig the first time.

Their synthetic wigs cost more than what you would find online suppliers but they are well made and designed to resemble not only hair but the scalp as well.

She brought in a couple of wigs and the first one I tried on was "love at first sight!" I had always wanted layered hair but with my thinning scalp could not do so.  Now I can get the opportunity. The wig had layers and a lot of body that made me feel like a new person!  Care is basically simple-use a vent brush with tips and a spray bottle of water. Two squirts and I'm done! It can't get easier than that.

She matched my hair color, ordered my wig and told me it would be there in about a week's time. Once received then I would be called for a return visit for try on and adjustments.

Wig orders require 50% down and balance due upon receipt. If you have medical reimbursement through your health insurance then they will give you an itemized receipt to submit to them.

I also got to meet John the owner, and he went over some additional questions I had regarding scalp care and whether or not a wig cap or even a sleep cap was necessary. Everyone was friendly and very helpful to answer all my questions.

Wow, what a shock, as I have been a bit skeptical about some other experiences I've had in the area. This is the NICEST salon I've been to in so long.

I was becoming more and more upset with my hair loss and I wasn't sure what to do.  I spoke to my doctor to see if there were any options and she told me about John Rutter Hair Solutions.  I made an appointment for a consultation.  John and his team are some of the nicest people I have ever met.  They genuinely care about helping people.  I thought there was no way people wouldn't be able to tell I was wearing a hair system, but it has to look better than wearing hats all the time.  We discussed plans on exactly how they could help me, costs, and methods of actually getting me more hair.  After we talked, we decided on the best course of action and we got started.  The day arrived when I would get my hair and I excited but I didn't want to get my hopes up.  I arrived and I think John and his team were more excited than I was.  I could tell they were passionate about helping people!  After they were finished, I couldn't believe my eyes, I had hair again ....and it looked like my own hair!
