Homewood Suites by Hilton Rochester Mayo Clinic - Saint Marys Campus in Rochester, MN

Came to Mayo for some testing and stayed at Homewood Suites. The room was very cozy and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast in the morning is GREAT and the social on Wednesdays is wonderful. You can tell the workers take pride in providing many breakfast offerings-it was different every day, which is a unique thing for hiltons I've stayed in! There is a free shuttle to take you to and from Mayo that is very punctual. The hotel is about a mile away from the clinic. I plan to come back yearly and stay at this property. There are a lot of options in town and this one is one of the good ones!

We are having such a terrific experience here- everyone who works here is so friendly and helpful- my favorites are front desk staff and all the ladies I've met working the breakfast room (and light dinner room on Wednesdays) They all just feel so comforting We arrived Monday - taking my mom to Mayo as it seems everyone staying here is also doing- and her condition did not allow us to share a room. I thought we could but I needed a 2nd room and the gentleman at the desk was so empathetic. (And I know they see Mayo patients everyday so I'm sure they've seen it all) He booked me a room just a few doors down and now we are both sleeping, so yeah! It seems minor, but seeing the meal laid out tonight downstairs took such a lid off my shoulders- Its so hard to move my mom anywhere- and it was a very warming chicken soup and French bread with salad- I don't even usually eat at hotels but it felt like a hug And I also don't use hotel pools much but stress led me to the hot tub tonight - it's adorable- they have huge windows all around so it feels a little bit like you're outside (it's cold out) and it backs up to a neighborhood so it's like you're at someone's house All around comfort and professionalism at this hotel- Oh and complimentary shuttles all day to Mayo with the very nicest drivers I'm here thru Saturday (5 nts) which I didn't think I would get through but I feel great about staying here

We stayed there twice before but this is the last time. They charged a $50 "incidental and parking fee" in spite of our not having a car! We had to call them up to reverse the fee. This may be a racket as many would not notice this fee. Its bad business practice to charge a fee for something that may be purchased but totally unacceptable to actually post the charge even when the item is not purchased. Our other complaint is the furniture in our suite was thread-bare and worn out. Rochester has 50 hotels to choose from. Homewood should compensated us for the trouble they caused.

Finding the entrance to this hotel was a little bit tricky. But once I walked in, the staff were professional. The hotel was clean. Our room was wonderful. We had a two bedroom two bath suite. My husband's comment: "I wish all hotels were like this one." So many hotels are staffed by slovenly people who do not do their jobs anymore. This one was not that way at all. The gentlemen manning the desk were dressed professionally. And it was apparent that they took pride in their job. Breakfast had options for people with gluten issues and dairy issues. It was so nice for my children to all have something to eat. We did not hear other guests other than in public spaces. It was quiet and the beds were great. I do not often wish that I could spend more time at a hotel, but I wished we could spend more time at this one. We only noticed one thing which ought to change: the couch in room 601 seemed dated and worn compared to everything else. I think it's time to replace it.

My son and I stayed there for a few days, it was a graduation present for him. The rooms we had were nice. The breakfast was good. I didn't especially like that there were no window coverings in the pool area, so anyone passing by could see in. The pool and the hot tub were small too. You pretty much have to swim by yourself, and if you don't want every man woman and child passing by to look in you have to do it at night. The hotel however was right by a grocery store, so buying things to make for meals were easy. I also liked that the hotel was across from St Mary's.
