Hamilton Hair & Nails in Geneva, IL

From the second you walk in and are greeted by Gordy (the shop mascot... sweetest little dog), you feel like family. All of the stylists are so friendly, there is usually a fun conversation going on within the whole shop, you feel like you are there to visit, not just get hair done. Amy is INCREDIBLE! I get complements on my hair all the time!!! I followed her from her last salon, and love the open fun atmosphere. If you are looking for a stuffy, pretentious atmosphere, this is NOT the place....

I have been a regular customer of Amy's for probably about 6 years. I see her every 6-8 weeks for cut and color. My husband is also a client of Amy's and swears that she's the only one who can cut his hair right. He's right! Even when I lived in Chicago, I still came out to Geneva to see Amy. She just understands my bad hair and makes it good. She even went to Lake Geneva to do my wedding. I love her like part of my family! Hamilton Hair & Nails is a lovely place to get your spa experience. It's a casual and fun environment with eclectic background music, and all the stylists/employees are very professional. Everyone is friendly and helpful. Paul will make you laugh during every visit. Gordy, the resident mascot is a real charmer. The salon is located in a great old home just off the beaten track in downtown Geneva. You'll never be disappointed at Hamilton! I highly suggest you try them!

I have been to Hamilton Hair & Nails on a regular 2-3 month basis for the past 3 years, and just recently had to stop because I needed a stylist that would work with me for my wedding which is on a Sunday, and my stylist at Hamilton was unwilling to work for me that day unfortunately. I still have to give them 5 stars because that is something that probably couldn't have been helped, and every single time I've been in to see Amy Reed, she has done a FANTASTIC job with my hair color and cut/style. I always go in there feeling like nothing can be done with my hair, and leave feeling beautiful and almost like a whole new me! Amy asks a lot of questions when you first come to see her. She wants to know what you do for a living so she can get an idea of how professional the look should be and she always makes sure you're happy with how you look before you leave. If the color is too dark or too light, or too chunky on the highlights, or what-have-you, she will fix it. She has an excellent eye for detail and if you can't think of a good look for yourself but know you want your hair more than just trimmed, she will give you some awesome suggestions that you can work with or not. The owner of the shop has a really cute little white dog, which I think may be hypoallergenic from what I've experienced. The dog almost always comes by me and is very friendly, doesn't bite or bark, and really seems to like people a lot. You are going to love the way you look when you go to see Amy. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a really good style.
