Hair Cuttery in Chesapeake, VA

Came in with no appointment that's fine. At no point did they ever take my name and add me to the queue. and appointments just kept rolling in and never put me in gurus. after 2 hours of waiting I walked over to sports clips and got right in. What a joke of a place this place is

I asked for a fade up the sides starting at a 2 and scissor the top about 1 inch. I left with basically a 2 up the sides and an uneven top. The worst part is featured in the photos. Aside from the uneven lines, she absolutely butchered my neck. It seems she was in such a hurry to close the shop an hour early that she just ran the razor across my neck as quickly as possible. I've never had an experience this poor at any hair place. Without a doubt, I won't be stepping foot in another Hair Cuttery again.

I come here to get my hair done by Debbie, a senior hairstylist that has been doing my hair for over 20 years. I follow her wherever she works because she is a true professional who stays up with the current styles and maintains my hair in top condition. I have long natural hair, and it isn't easy to find a stylist who can maintain that type of hair and help it continue to grow. She is always very kind to any person she works with, and I frequently have witnessed her mentoring her co-workers when they request her input. Her easygoing demeanor makes me comfortable and allows me to relax while she is doing my hair. This Hair Cuttery location is clean, and the staff is friendly to each other and the customers. There is usually a lovely group of stylists and customers whenever I go in for service. I have not seen any of the negative issues mentioned in the other reviews take place, and I am glad that has not been my experience over the last few years of coming here. The waiting room seating is NOT comfortable! The chairs are great for the staff to wipe clean at the end of the night, but they are bad on customers' backs - Cushions are a way to express you care about your customers, haha, but seriously get new chairs - Ouch!

Nancy did a great job. She saw her co-worker was behind and took me instead of going home. Her thoughtfulness about her co-worker and the patrons show she goes above and beyond for customer service.

If I could leave this piss poor place no stars I would. I came in last weekend for a haircut, the young lady asked if I had an appointment,  to which I replied no. She then said they had no availabilities and were fully booked for the day. I said okay and left( even though the sign on the door says walkins welcomed!) Fast foward to this afternoon I came in at 12pm for my SCHEDULED appointment. I was then told the lady I requested was not gonna be in. I said ok, but Noone even gave me a call or anything. The young women says "no we don't I'm so sorry and we don't have anyone that can cut your hair today, do you want to reschedule for tomorrow?" I told her no I do not actually, said thank you and left. I did call back on the way home in hopes of speaking with a manager. The person who answered was Renee, I told her what was going on. She was very nice and apologetic even said she didn't know why the women told me nobody could take me when she WAS IN THE BACK! She offered for me to come back and she cut my hair. However, honestly I would rather spend my hard earned money at a more organized establishment with better customer service.
