I live an hour away from VWC but it is amazing! And the drive is worth it! I've been to many health centers in the DMV area and VWC was the best. My first appointment there I had testing done that all the other health centers told me I had to make another appointment to have done. Dr. Tovia Smith is very knowledgeable, compassionate and values the opinion of her patients. She also seems to understand that her patients want to have as much done as possible at the appointment, rescheduling appointments to have other things done is inconvenient. Dr. Smith understands this and gets the ball rolling immediately. I ended up missing my 2nd appointment due to very bad traffic and had to reschedule for a month out. Within a few minutes of rescheduling the clinic called me back and said they had a cancellation if I wanted to come in the next day. The entire staff is amazing and goes above and beyond for their patients.

PSA For First Time Moms: I've sat on this review for months but feel it's necessary to share my experience so that others can make a well informed decision when it comes to choosing a doctor from this practice. I was a first time pregnant mom and hand picked Doctor Megan Cassidy after meeting with several other doctors at the practice. My husband and I developed, what we had believed to be, a very strong relationship with her over the course of my pregnancy which was textbook outside of an early delivery. We did not expect Dr. Cassidy to be there for the delivery but we never even heard from her again. She never called to follow up once she was notified of the birth at 35 weeks, she never returned our messages from that weekend about some significant bleeding I was experiencing and she never responded to our request to speak with her when we called to see what was going on. It was so odd that we almost thought something may have happened to her to just go radio silent on us the way that she did. It was a very unfortunate way to end such a pleasant experience and blessing of being pregnant for the very first time.

Okay - I have reviewed restaurants and even my church here on Yelp - so why not review my gyno? I became a patient of Virginia Women's Center about three years ago and have found EVERYTHING about this practice to be wonderful. We live in a rather rural area that had seen a bunch of docs come and go (and none of them were spectacular) so when Virginia Women's Center set up a satellite office here my first reaction was "meh". Well. I went and found the entire staff to be warm, welcoming and wonderful. The doc (Dr. Vogel) takes time to get to know his patients, he is kind and patient and answers all questions - even those not strictly pertaining to the matter at hand. What a wonderful experience. Gyno exams are not my favorite thing in the world but Dr. Vogel was reassuring and great. The nurses and the support staff are equally as sweet. Honestly I cannot ever remember having such a pleasant experience at the gynecologist. Thank you Va Women's Center!

Yes I'm writing a review of my new GYN. We're all adults here. After a few years of less-than-stellar experiences at another practice that shall not be named, I decided it was time to find another office that made me feel more at home. I'm getting married in a few months which means children are in my not-too-distant future. With that in mind, I knew that the next doctor I chose would likely be the one to deliver my future children, so I did my research (on Yelp, no less) and decided to make an appointment at Virginia Women's Center. After reading the reviews, I had a few doctor names in mind that I thought would be good to see. When I called and they set me up with Kelly Yeong, I was pumped. A few people mentioned how good she was in their reviews, so I knew I would be in good hands. What I didn't realize, was just how good! I'm here to report that I actually had a good time at the gyno! That was definitely a first. I have never left any doctor appointment thinking "Well, that was pleasant!" Signing in was quick and painless, even as a new patient. The receptionist was super nice. Then, I went back to the waiting area and was called back about 15 minutes later to see Kelly and her nurse. They were both super nice and totally open to answering any questions that I had. I love that Kelly also took the time to get to know me. We talked about my upcoming wedding, her kids, and local restaurants. I feel like she is someone that I can trust with my health for years to come. I'm happy to be a Virginia Women's Center Patient.

Let's get to the good stuff, yes this is an OBGYN but seriously I researched reviews before selecting this practice and am so glad I did. I actually left another practice after horrible care of my first pregnancy to come here. My number one reason for switching is that I had become pregnant with my second child and wanted a more peaceful and as natural as possible experience with my second birth. I usually make the St.Marys location my default appointment spot, if you can go to another location as the parking is horrible. The parking lot is small and everyone is circling the block multiple times in hopes of finding a spot, odds are you will not and be 8 months pregnant walking what seems like a mile. The staff here though is wonderful. They all have smiles on their faces and actually look happy to be there. The wait time compared to other places is below average, there are times I can just walk in and out and times I would sit for 20 minutes, it's just all about the appointment time you choose. It was never horrible though to the point of me feeling forgotten or getting annoyed! Dr. Alice Hirata is amazing, I cannot talk about her enough. From the moment I meet her I felt safe and like she actually cared, her nurse, Shannon is great as well. Dr. Hirata is very busy but she always made sure my questions were fully answered and gave me the best care possible. Although I was not able to have a VBAC the second time due to medical reasons she never pushed me to have a csection, she let me decide which allowed me to heal from my first csection! All in all, this practice specifically Dr. Hirata is amazing, although I am sure you can get the same level of care from anyone there that would be extraordinary!
