A Great Clips really is its own warning, but I went to this one on several occasions as the pandemic let up largely because my barber was too old and frail to expose himself to Covid for much of the time. It was never a horror story, but it was a reign of utter discomfort.

1. During the time I went here, I developed alopecia areata from stress both at home and at work. The barber is usually your front line of defense here and can spot white patches or bald patches as they crop up. The stylist here didn't notify me of two patches for a year and a half because she thought they "looked cute."

2. I have one instruction for my hairstyle ever. I've worn it the same way since 1998 and, aside from slight discrepancies in tapering, it doesn't really vary. Without me asking, the stylist one day took it upon herself to change the location of the part, the direction of the sweep and the front length. When I asked her not to do that, she sheepishly put it back, charged me half price, but told me she couldn't work on my hair again.

3. As a company, the online check-in needs work. How does it go from a 10-minute wait on my smartphone as I pull into the lot to a 20-minute wait in the shop?

Here's the deal: You may be from out of town. You may be living in your first apartment here. You may think to yourself "all GreatClips/SportClips/Supercuts are the same." You may see this as the inexpensive, easy way out. It isn't. There are cheaper, better options out there, though one is not often the other. Do your research, take your time and value your personal appearance to a greater degree than the strip mall does.

If I could give a negative star I would!  Do not get your haircut here. I had the absolute worst haircut in my life!  Provided a picture to the hairstylist to show what I wanted. Short haircut above the shoulders with layers. Seemed to be a simple haircut. The hairstyle didn't seem to know how to cut this type of haircut, I guess, and at the end I politely told her I didn't want to hurt her feelings but it I didn't like the cut, it didn't seem anything like the picture. I told her I wasn't sure if it was maybe due to styling that was needed to make it look more the picture. The stylist then called over a more experienced hairstylist for help. The more experienced stylist looked at the picture and proceeded to show the first stylist what she did wrong as she  chopped up my hair more. I tried to stop her as I didn't want shorter hair then already had from the first stylist, yet, she stopped me to tell me not to worry she wasn't doing anything to the length, just layering it more. Omg!  At least the first stylist left me some hair. The second stylist turned my haircut into a pixie cut!!!. I don't understand how either stylist thinks the haircut the gave me resembles anything to the picture I brought in. The second stylist told me I didn't have to pay for it. Of course not, there was no way in hell I was paying for this haircut I didn't ask for. I cried as I left their salon. I will never return Great Clips and will be pursuing other means for at the very least an apology for this excuse of a haircut.

I have had several good haircuts here over the past few years.  The online check-in system is easy if you're willing to have the app on your phone.  The waiting area is tiny, so definitely use the app - it shows the wait times so you know before you go in.  There is zero space for kids in the waiting area and the only challenges I've had there are when people bring in several kids who get antsy with the wait and no place to spread out (which yeah that's what kids do, totally understandable).  

All the staff I've talked to here are friendly and professional, and do exactly what I ask with my hair.  I have a different stylist each time and so far they are all good.  (I'm guessing the people causing the older negative reviews are no longer there).  Parking shares a lot with the Safeway and gas station so sometimes there is a bit of traffic at the corner but overall pretty easy to get to.

I've been here a couple times for a trim and each time was pleasant. There was no long wait and I was able to check in on my phone before I stepped inside. Dee has cut my hair both times and she is very nice.
