The owner is the only hairdresser there. She asked me how I wanted it cut, so I explained (in Chinese, which is what she's fluent in) and she listened :) For a haircut its $18 for girls and $15 for guys - quite a reasonable price.

I had a wonderful hair cut from the stylist. I had recently messed up my hair quite bad from trying to cut it myself (ladies don't try to cut your own hair, I PROMISE you it's not worth it). After having realized that I had ruined it, I was searching around the area for a salon that could fix it up for a reasonable price. I went to three other hair salons in the area, all of which were not accomodating walk-ins and were also at ridiculously high prices. I'm was extremely disappointed, since being a college student doesn't allow me to have the cash to shell out $60 like some of the salons were asking. Then I found G&R as I was walking back to my apartment- wonderful service and relaxing atmosphere. She only charged $18 for my cut, to which I tipped to the $20 mark because the cut looks amazing! She encouraged me to try parting my hair on the other side- and wow I should've done this years ago, I love it! This isn't going to be a posh experience or anything- but you will come away with a beautiful looking hair cut. Especially being a girl, hair cuts are usually priced so high so this was a pleasant surprise of inexpensive yet excellent quality. Do bring cash with you for the visit to pay with, as for downsides that's possibly the only one. To anyone who isn't interested paying the price of 4 restaurant meals on a haircut, this is the place to go.
