Everyone at the salon is super friendly! They chat with the customers and make you feel very welcomed. But I made an appointment and got a call to reschedule twice. She was apologetic, but it sill seemed a bit much. Then I asked her to cut my hair shorter 3 times and she did but not to what I really wanted. I ended up getting fed up and just going with it. After I left I saw that I STILL has split ends and my hair looked the same. On the plus side, the head massage during shampooing was perfection.

Hannah Quigg is the BEST stylist EVER! Want somebody who listens, who gives her thoughtful advice, who spends time getting your hair just right? Go see Hannah. I've looked 12 years for a great stylist in C-U, and my search us finally over. Happy, happy, happy!

I have been going to Crystal Estoc at Ruth's Salon for haircuts for several years now. It's a pretty unassuming place, tucked away in a residential neighborhood, and I probably wouldn't have found it on my own. I was looking for a place to get haircuts here in Champaign--I'd tried the foofoo day spas and was looking for something a bit nicer than the $10 haircut places in Campustown. A co-worker with a great haircut recommended Crystal, and the rest is history! I've never had a bad haircut at Ruth's. Ever. And I have tried several different styles, from medium-length to short. Crystal always gives me a haircut that looks good, even when I am the one doing the styling. Since I am not very good at doing "things" to my hair, she keeps it nice and simple. She is super-friendly and is able to adapt pictures of haircuts from magazines or books into something that actually looks good on ME, rather than mimicing the style and leaving me with a haircut that looks lousy on me. The stylists at Ruth's are comfortable with a lot of different styles, including the standard little-old-lady wash & set; chic, retro "ladies who lunch" styles; and modern-looking styles. Prices are reasonable, too!
